Search for new talent and development of skills: the role of corporate academies
Alcune indicazioni da Abstract

In the last three years the companies have turned. Some have grown, many have changed, almost all of them have 'enlarged' due to the new methods of distance work. Reorganize the methods of work, to guarantee a comfortable and efficient workplace, redesign the professional growth and updating have become urgent needs for each organization. The challenge today is to rethink the functioning of the company, strengthen its cultural identity and build a satisfying professional experience, made of growth and development of new skills.
In this context, corporate academies prove to be a very valuable tool. Created with the aim of enhancing professional growth paths, they are now increasingly widespread to train not only people within the organisation, but also talented young people and professionals to join the company. The academies, in fact, allow you to develop and strengthen specific skills required by the organization and immediately usable on the job market, which often do not appear in the study plans of traditional school and university courses.
Targeted training and attachment to company values
At Abstract we organize between seven and eight academies every year. For the first half of 2023 alone, there are already four scheduled, all departing by the end of March. They last from four to six weeks, with classes made up of 10-12 people. The rate of entry into the company is close to 100%: precisely because the training is organized according to the skills and resources needed by the company, the selection takes place upstream, when the classes are formed.
In addition to receiving targeted training and training specific skills, those who participate in the academies also develop a clearer understanding and greater attachment to company values, such as teamwork, sharing within the team and customer service. The role of corporate culture, even in the most flexible and geographically widespread environments, is to ensure that every person receives the same messages from the company, whether they go to the office every day or interact with bosses and collaborators only through digital tools. Spreading corporate culture even in academies means sharing knowledge, values and behaviors right away.
Technical skills and soft skills also for remote talents
Alongside technical skills - from courses for front-end or back-end developers to those for functional consultants in the SAP area - ample space is dedicated to soft skills. Preparing young people to enter the world of work also means training their communication skills, their ability to manage relationships with customers and their ability to relate positively to bosses and colleagues. For those who already experience the reality of work, courses to accelerate project management and team working skills cannot be missing, as well as lessons on time management and negotiation skills.
Although already oriented towards the internal needs of the organization, the corporate academy is also able to overcome the company's physical boundaries today. The new technologies allow, in fact, to build "distributed geography" classes, recruiting and forming talents even at a great distance. If so conceived, the corporate academy proves to be a training tool for entry into the world of work, but also of personal and professional growth for those who have been working for some time. An opportunity to insert young talents, carefully trained and accompanied by senior professionals, and to create a prepared and competitive team
