One click automatically installs the Qualys Cloud Agent device, which sends vulnerability reports directly to the Google Security Command Center
Qualys, Inc. (NASDAQ: QLYS), pioneer and leading provider of cloud-based security and compliance solutions, announced its partnership with Google which provides for the automatic integration of Qualys Cloud Agent in the Google Cloud Platform (GCP), thanks to which customers will be able to improve security and obtain a vulnerability assessment with a simple click, without the burden of installing and managing new software. Additionally, Qualys will be able to offer its broad suite of integrated cloud-based security and compliance solutions directly on the GCP Marketplace, making it easier to deploy, upgrade and purchase.
“The complete integration of Qualys with Pivotal's CI tools (Continuous Integration) is essential for us as it allows us to use the scanning tools directly in the development and release process of our new products,” he underlined Steve White, Field CISO di Pivotal.io. “It's great to see Qualys and Google together making it easy for customers to leverage automatic scanning capabilities for their cloud-based workloads.”
Vulnerability data is automatically sent to the GCP Security Command Center (SCC), giving administrators immediate visibility into the security status of cloud resources and the ability to take action independently. This same information is also available in the centralized Qualys Cloud Platform, and security managers can use it to monitor and report on the company, multiple cloud accounts, multiple vendors, on-premise assets, and user endpoints.
“We are happy to partner with Qualys to integrate their core security features into Google Cloud,” he said Manvinder Singh, Director Partnerships di Google Cloud. “Customers can easily and quickly deploy Qualys tools with the Google Cloud Marketplace, immediately leveraging vulnerability visibility and security infrastructure through the Google Cloud Security Command Center.”
Furthermore, with the help of the GCP API, companies can automatically and transparently coordinate the installation of the Qualys Agent in Linux and Windows workloads as an integral part of their DevOps processes, immediately obtaining visibility that is not generally possible without manually installing agents. The integration leverages telemetry data captured by the Qualys Agent and security data provided by other Qualys apps such as Vulnerability Management, Policy Compliance, File Integrity Monitoring, Indication of Compromise, Patch Management and Asset Inventory. This integration also ensures complete GCP support for the new and revolutionary suite Qualys VMDR (Vulnerability Management, Detection, and Response), which will be available on GCP Marketplace starting in January 2020.
“With this native integration into GCP, customers can gain complete visibility into their hybrid environment (cloud, on-premise, endpoint, mobile, OT and IoT) and define consistent security policies without any software to install and manage,” he said Philippe Courtot, President and CEO of Qualys. “Plus, starting in January, GCP customers will have direct access to Qualys VMDR, which enables a streamlined workflow to inventory global IT assets, continuously identify vulnerabilities that threaten their entire computing environment, and classify and eliminate those vulnerabilities with one click, dramatically reducing threat exposure.”
