Thunder® Containers solutions improve application performance and security for multi-cloud environments
A10 Networks (NYSE: ATEN), a company specializing in Application Visibility Performance and Security, has announced the inclusion of a new cloud-ready and ultra-light set of solutions aimed at providing secure application services. These are the industry's best performing container-based applications, with throughput up to 200 Gbps for A10 Networks Thunder Application Delivery Controller (ADC), Carrier-Grade Networking (CGN) and Convergent Firewall (CFW) solutions.
The inclusion of Thunder Containers extends the company's multi-cloud solutions portfolio and increases application performance, security and availability, enabling customers to confidently run their workloads in multi-cloud and hyperscale environments. Customers can therefore meet the growing demand for traffic, keeping service levels monitored even when deploying applications geographically, in public or private clouds.
The Enterprise distributes its applications on average on about five cloud environments[1] different. The need to manage heterogeneous environments, in addition to the intrinsic complexity of applications, makes operational management very complex. For these reasons, companies need efficient, agile and performing solutions that above all provide centralized management and complete analysis of the entire application infrastructure.
Agile and high-performance cloud-native application infrastructures
Solutions based on A10 Networks Thunder Containers help solve many of the challenges that businesses face on a daily basis. The inclusion of this container-based solution in the A10 Networks portfolio allows it to support a mix of application architectures, from traditional monolithic to distributed microservices, using the same code, the same all-inclusive management mode, APIs and the same features to help companies combine new and legacy services, in order to make infrastructures more agile. Furthermore, it can completely overcome the divide between NetOps/SecOps and DevOps with a unified and consistent application and feature set and policy control in both traditional data centers and multi-cloud environments.
"With the new Thunder Containers, we're putting on the market the most high load balancing, firewall, carrier-grade NAT (CGNAT) for a very complex multi-cloud world" - said Raj Jalan, CTO di A10 Networks. - "A10 Networks has extended its product portfolio from conventional solutions based on physical appliance, a virtual ones and microservizi, providing customers with a range of unified solutions to ensure agile and highly scalable infrastructure. Tight integration with Harmony® A10 Controller also provides visibility to customers, centralized management for recurring transactions and total safety in all multi-cloud environments. "
Thunder Containers is supported by kubernetes. The highly versatile and scalable solution is compatible with the Intel x86-standard servers and can be distributed among the major cloud providers, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP), as well as private data centers that enable companies to benefit from agility, flexibility and security. In combination with the unique FlexPool® licensing model, customers can associate the flexible capacity allocation and redistribution of resources for running applications in the cloud.
Thunder Containers will be available from the third quarter of 2019.
