Praim, a leader in the supply of complete systems for the creation and management of Thin & Zero Client software and hardware workstations, this year has placed everything on the radical licensing renewal of their software systems. The heart of the new corporate strategy is the centralization of the role of ThinMan, the unified endpoint management console, of which Praim has released an improved and more immediate version.
Together with Thin & Zero Client and Agile and ThinOX4PC, ThinMan it forms one of the three macro areas into which all Praim solutions and products are divided. The new licensing model aims to make understanding, use and purchase by users more immediate and accessible. For this reason, a fixed annual subscription per device has been introduced and the price will decrease based on the increase in the number of devices to be managed.
“This new method of licensing Praim Software products presents itself as a novelty that aims to place the user at the center – he states Jacopo Bruni, Marketing Manager di Praim. – In fact, this approach proposes solutions that can actually be modeled around the needs and peculiarities of the customer, allowing simple and fast management of any endpoint”.
ThinMan will be available in two different versions: ThinMan Basic e ThinMan Advanced, which in turn offers tre Feature Pack, that is to say Network+, Admin+ e User+. The ThinMan Basic model is completely free, with limited but optimal functionality for managing a limited endpoint fleet. The Advanced version includes all the main functions to manage any number of devices.
In particular, the Feature Pack User+ It is designed for those who need to manage user profiles and integrate with a centralized LDAP-based directory service such as Active Directory. This Feature Pack is ideal for large companies that have employees sharing workstations in different locations and that require roaming mobility. User+ includes the Praim Smart Identity solution which allows you to have security tools, implementing two-factor authentication through the use of smart cards to more efficiently control access to the device.
The Pack Admin+ instead, it was designed for device administrators with the need for high availability, external database and multiple users. It adds several features, such as greater scalability for the platform in environments with a large number of stations; integrated high availability, creating a secondary ThinMan Server instance in case the primary one goes down; the possibility of advanced administration, allowing different administrators to access the console with different rights and functionality depending on access models; finally a security guarantee, introducing the use of private local certificates.
In the last Pack Network+ addresses the needs of large companies where there may be many workstations connected to various WAN circuits and slow and expensive network connections, optimizing traffic between offices and conserving bandwidth. This package includes the ThinMan Gateway solution with repeater function between remote network devices and the ThinMan management console, which saves bandwidth for device updates.
With the new licensing model of Software solutions, Praim has increased the quality of its service, providing more specific functions tailored to every need and budget.
