Patch Management features, through a single integrated solution for Linux and Windows devices, optimize and accelerate vulnerability remediation activities
Qualys, Inc. (NASDAQ: QLYS), a pioneer and leading provider of highly innovative cloud-based IT security and compliance solutions, has extended patching support for Linux systems. The goal is to continue to ensure vulnerability detection and remediation through a single platform, reducing the time needed to fix them.
Qualys Patch Management now supports patching for Linux, Windows and other operating systems, through a single pane of glass and with a unified workflow.
With the migration of companies to the cloud, Linux - the operating system most used by cloud platforms and servers - has gradually become the most exploited target by cybercriminals to gain access to the operating environment. Since systems without the latest patches are the leading cause of cyber attacks, rapid remediation management must be implemented. But remediation of exposed vulnerabilities involves several challenges, including manually identifying and combining the right patches in relation to the priority assigned to the vulnerabilities – with the need for specific tools to manage different operating systems. The lack of automation and consistent tools slows the patching process, increasing the potential for new risks.
Expanding Vulnerability Management, Detection and Response (VMDR) to support patching of Linux systems allows customers to remediate IT issues at scale and apply patches with one click, through the same Qualys Cloud Agent used for vulnerability assessment. To further save time while also improving efficiency, the application automatically links, tracks and deploys Linux patches.
Available as part of the VMDR solution, Qualys Patch Management, is a comprehensive cloud solution that helps IT and security professionals streamline and accelerate vulnerability remediation efforts for Linux and Windows operating systems, including mobile and third-party applications.
Qualys Patch Management for Linux gives users visibility and control of the patch deployment process with the following features:
- Automate vulnerability and patch correlation to improve accuracy and reduce the time traditionally required to search and map vulnerabilities and patches to remediate them.
- Consolidate patch deployment for Linux, Windows and third-party applications, eliminating the need to use vendor-specific control panels.
- Centralized workflows and real-time dashboards to easily monitor and manage correlations for both Linux and Windows workloads.
“The addition of Linux patching to VDMR continues Qualys' commitment to automating the detection and management of the entire vulnerability remediation and patching process, enabling customers to accelerate remediation times and improve security posture. their IT security,” he says Sumedh Thakar, CEO ad interim and Chief Product Officer at Qualys. “In addition to providing a unified view for patch deployment for Linux and Windows operating systems, the end-to-end approach to vulnerability management eliminates boundaries between IT and security teams, accelerating the remediation process” .
