In response to the unprecedented increase in sophisticated cyberattacks, with ransomware at its core, and as cybersecurity collaboration has been named a global priority, Ivanti is doubling down on its Everywhere Workplace protection strategy
Ivanti Inc., the automation platform that discovers, manages, protects and supports IT assets from the cloud to the edge, inaugurates the “Summer of Security"to strengthen its commitment to customer protection as companies and governments around the world face increasingly complex cyber threats. With the Summer of Security, Ivanti is doubling its commitment to protecting the Everywhere Workplace.
All this happens in the wake of Executive Order of President Biden aimed at improving cybersecurity. The bill calls for greater collaboration and information sharing between the federal government and the private sector, demanding “decisive changes and significant investments to defend the vital institutions that underpin the American way of life.” As a result, Ivanti is committed to taking a collaborative approach to security and raising the bar where bad actors launch increasingly sophisticated attacks.
In line with this strategy, Ivanti recently nominated Daniel Spicer as the company's new Vice President of Security. Spicer will help improve the company's overall cybersecurity infrastructure, working with engineering teams to further strengthen Ivanti's solutions and evaluating future acquisitions to enhance capabilities and market differentiation to enhance Ivanti's network security and protect its systems and data.
Over the long term, Ivanti plans to increase its staff to implement a more specialized team of product experts, acquire companies that will strengthen security expertise, collaborate with security partners to expand the reach of the Ivanti Neurons platform, and introduce new capabilities that will allow organizations to better protect their digital assets in the Everywhere Workplace. Ivanti will also continue to collaborate with industry leaders, including public and private sector executives, to set new standards for the industry's approach to security.
“Cybercriminals have grown in scale and the security industry needs to rise to the occasion,” he said Spicer. "As businesses and public bodies must defend their systems from increasingly advanced attacks, Ivanti is focused on protecting and promptly mitigating threats to customers. It all starts with creating products that guarantee total security, then educating on the best practices to adopt and helping companies build robust foundations in terms of security, through a Zero Trust strategy. Transparency and collaboration are also needed."
The rapid shift towards remote working has changed the threat landscape forever. In the Everywhere Workplace, employees use various devices to access corporate networks, data and services while working from different locations. Although productivity has increased, remote working has also contributed to increasing the company's attack surface, creating countless security problems for businesses.
Hackers have recently disrupted various aspects of daily life, generating major critical issues also in the USA, with multiple ransomware attacks launched against the main food producers. According to a recent global study by Ivanti, 58% of respondents said their companies had suffered a ransomware attack in the last year. The majority (53%) of these said it took them between one and four weeks to get back up and running. Ivanti surveyed over 1,000 enterprise IT professionals in the US, UK, France, Germany, Australia, New Zealand and Japan.
To combat ongoing threats, the Everywhere Workplace requires the implementation of distributed security. By continuously verifying every asset and transaction before allowing access to data, Zero Trust security allows businesses to have a more robust and impenetrable network. Verification includes, but is not limited to, advanced user authentication, posture checks for devices, and micro-segmentation of networks. Before granting access, the Zero Trust approach considers different data and the full context of the user's environment.
