Eco-sustainability and enhancement of the environment at the center of the futuristic new company headquarters
ESET, a global leader in the cybersecurity market, presented the plans for the announced ESET Campus – an innovation and technology hub based in Bratislava, Slovakia, where the company headquarters is also located. The 55,000 m² campus, designed by world-renowned architecture firm BIG-Bjarke Ingels Group, will house the company's new headquarters and become a center of excellence, creating a strong cybersecurity, AI and innovation ecosystem for Slovakia and Central Europe.
In response to changing post-pandemic working patterns and suggestions from its employees, ESET Campus was built to meet the business needs of employees, customers and partners. The main function of the Campus is to be a welcoming working environment supported by a range of facilities and services for ESET and the local community.
"I envision the ESET Campus as a creative hub where innovative cybersecurity solutions come to life so that we can all enjoy the vast potential of cutting-edge technologies. By building an inclusive, diverse, green and collaborative workplace fit for the future, we are responding to the needs of our employees, customers, partners and our community. – he explained Richard Marko, CEO of ESET. – We will continue to respond in an increasingly proactive way to the real needs of society, in order to support science, education and innovation”.
ESET's campus will be built on principles of functionality and eco-sustainability. The company has already taken the first step towards reporting its carbon emissions which saw a 40% decrease in 2020.
"We believe it is essential for ESET to lead by example in the field of innovation and technology. We will ensure that our Campus hosts the latest technologies, intelligent and efficient solutions to achieve the highest levels of sustainability – is the comment of Palo Luka, Chief Operating Officer at ESET. – We will aim for a zero-emission campus operation, but we have an ambition to also reduce emissions during construction, and we believe our partnership with BIG will help us achieve this.”
Bjarke Ingels, co-founder of BIG, during the presentation of the plans to the city authorities and the public in Bratislava on Wednesday 24 November in a press conference stated: “ESET's new headquarters materializes the brief and challenge we received from ESET's Top Management in the most literal way possible – the architecture is not only ecologically and economically sustainable, it is also socially sustainable: rather than a single isolated entity, we have dissolved the new campus into a series of buildings framing a central square. An abundance of public spaces, Human-scale pathways and pavilions welcome ESET employees, university students and citizens of Bratislava to gather, exchange knowledge and have fun. The campus architecture will expand organically over time, but it also feels like a single unified identity that is open, integrated and accessible to the community from day one. We are excited that the new ESET headquarters is part of the city's transformation towards a more engaging public environment and we believe that the new ESET Campus has the real potential to become the seed of a new district. of the innovation that the city deserves".
