Nethive's HiveFlow4C solution is a fundamental element for developing a new framework that ensures a healthier and safer relationship between minors and technology
Nethive, an Italian company specializing in networking and security services and projects, proposes itself as a promoter for the development of a scientific research project aimed at creating a new framework that takes into consideration the current state of the art in the pedagogical/educational field in regulating the relationship between minors and technology, integrating it with its HiveFlow4C technological solution.
The ever-increasing diffusion of digital technologies also in educational environments has produced radical changes in all sectors of our lives, fueling a growing debate on the use of these devices by minors and how this can affect their growth and training path .
In collaboration with the University of Padua Foundation, Nethive has launched a training and research program with the aim of promoting digital well-being, through a parental control model. This is a project which, starting from the identification of the effects of using digital devices on the mental and physical health of minors and on the web applications that have the greatest impact on training and their psychosocial well-being, will make it possible to set up correct digital habits for each age group , protecting minors from the use of inappropriate content and from excessive overexposure to social networks and advertising messages.
Indeed, guaranteeing correct education in terms of digital well-being allows minors to exploit the benefits of technology, without compromising their attention and ability to interact with the outside world. The framework will be integrated into the HiveFlow4C solution which will become an important component of the offer of digital services by the main Italian telephone operators, with a very significant overall social impact.
HiveFlow is Nethive's agentless solution for the control and security of all familiar devices from the most widespread and dangerous threats; thanks to personalized profiles, it allows you to set usage rules for each member of the family, create healthy digital habits and protect minors from inappropriate content. Through the Application Control and Web Content Filtering it is possible to have full control and visibility of the data traffic of all devices to stay up to date on the family's online activities and receive timely notifications through various communication channels e-mail, SMS and notifications in app.
“We want to position ourselves more and more clearly as a company that promotes digital education for families and individuals, with the aim of increasing social interest in digital wellness, an often underestimated and neglected topic,” underlines Alessandro Bellato, Co-Founder & Owner di Nethive. “Our HiveFlow4C solution, thanks to the direct integration with the infrastructure of the major Italian telephone operators, is part of one of the main links in the digital content distribution chain. For this reason we believe it is essential to disseminate these issues correctly and effectively, in order to build a healthy, balanced and aware digital society of the potential risks and interesting opportunities offered by technology."
Thanks to the agreement stipulated with UniSMART, the Foundation of the University of Padua in April 2023, we have started a valuable academic collaboration. This partnership will kick off our exciting PhD project with the University of Padua starting in October 2023, with expected completion by October 2026.
Phases of the research project
- Survey on the current state of the art and identification of the criteria according to which web applications/contents intended for different age groups must be chosen.
- Drafting of the guidelines for the realization of the Research Framework.
- Development of a parental control model, which can be implemented in the existing technological infrastructure of the HiveFlow product.
“Children spend a lot of time online every day and parents often do not have adequate tools to control their digital activities and protect them from inappropriate content – he concludes Bellato of Nethive -. HiveFlow, already today, allows you to set usage rules for each member of the family, creating healthy digital habits and blocking the most widespread and dangerous threats. We believe that balance and digital well-being are the way to establish a dialogue as profitable and productive as possible with the new generations, both within the family and in training environments."
