ESET in partnership with Dutch telecommunications and IT provider KPN

by Grandangolo Communications / Wednesday, 27 December 2023 / Published in Eset

The two companies have joined forces to protect their customers from unwanted, harmful and fraudulent content by adopting ESET NetProtect

ESET, the global European leader in the cybersecurity market, has signed a strategic partnership with the Dutch company, KPN, the leading telecommunications and IT provider in the Netherlands. Through this collaboration, ESET is introducing KPN customers to ESET NetProtect, a cutting-edge DNS filtering solution designed to protect home networks, including IoT devices, from malware, phishing and unwanted content.

KPN takes the safety of its customers very seriously. In 2022, 15% of the Dutch population was a victim of cybercrime, of which 50% was due to online scams and financial fraud, while 20% were a victim of hacking: this is why KPN and ESET have decided to join together to offer the best solution to their customers. KPN, an Internet service provider, aims to protect the traffic on its network and ultimately its customers by creating a safe and secure Internet environment.

ESET NetProtect works by filtering DNS (Domain Name System) before it is accessed by devices connected to home connections via routers. For KPN customers, services are easily activated with a single click through the user's trusted Internet provider, ensuring automatic protection for all connected devices.

This is especially useful nowadays, as families use smart and IoT devices that cannot be protected by traditional security software, and ESET NetProtect provides protection for a seamless experience. For devices with protection already installed, ESET NetProtect acts as an additional layer of security for the ecosystem.

ESET NetProtect is an amazing shield, preventing sensitive information, such as credit card data, from leaking through phishing websites, using DNS filtering to provide seamless and reliable protection. One of the biggest advantages of ESET NetProtect is that it requires a few simple steps to activate. This makes the solution easy to use for all ages and all levels of IT proficiency, making security even more accessible. Furthermore, such a level of security makes it more difficult for new threats (such as the use of artificial intelligence in phishing, which makes malicious messages appear more credible and harder to recognize with the naked eye) to reach the end user. This is especially important for parents who want to keep their children safe when they are online without supervision. The solution also includes a monthly summary of malicious sites and foiled malware, as well as a malware and phishing filter and protection against potentially unwanted content.

Through the easy-to-use management portal, end users can easily configure ESET NetProtect settings for connected devices, manage domain allow and block lists, and generate security reports. The portal offers valuable information on ESET's protection mechanisms. All of these solutions have been developed to protect devices connected to Telco and ISP networks, protecting them from a multitude of threats.

Reliable, easy-to-use security is a priority, supported by local customer support and comprehensive protection that's always one step ahead of online threats. This is possible thanks to ESET's unique database of cyber threat detection, sourced from the vendor's global network of research and development centers.

Mária Trnková, Chief Marketing Officer at ESET, said: "People and their security are the top priority for us at ESET. New emerging technologies are undeniably becoming an integral part of our daily lives, but the threat landscape does not lag behind. Threats are becoming increasingly sophisticated, so it is important, now more than ever, to offer reliable and easy-to-use solutions that guarantee our protection. With ESET NetProtect we have developed an effective solution and we are pleased to be able to protect KPN customers."
