The event will bring an inspiring debate about the future of our planet to Bratislava, featuring eight Nobel Prize winners, astronauts, top researchers and the biggest thought leaders on climate change, the environment, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity
STARMUS, powered by ESET, announced a plan unprecedented for its seventh edition, which promises to be the most stimulating debate on the future of our planet. As anticipated in May 2023, the prestigious STARMUS festival – born from an idea of the astrophysicist Israeli Garik and the guitarist of Queen Sir Brian May, who also has a doctorate in astrophysics – will take place in Bratislava from May 12th to 17th.
STARMUS will open with a performance by legendary musician, Jean-Michel Jarre, followed by a four-day program of STARMUS Exclusive Talks with more than 50 world-renowned speakers and artists in Bratislava's ice hockey stadium, Ondrej Nepela Arena.

He will be joined by Starmus speakers, including the astronaut Charlie Duke and the technological visionary Tony Fadell.
STARMUS, in its first edition focused on Planet Earth, will see the participation of Nobel prizes, come Michel Mayor, Emmanuelle Charpentier e Kip Thorne; astronauts who made the history of the space race – how Charlie Duke O Chris Hadfield – e global icons, come Jane Goodall and the legend of music Sir Brian May, co-founder of the festival.
The festival will also host exclusive performances by the popular Californian punk-rock band The Offspring, of Tony Hadley, the former lead singer of 80s British pop icon Spandau Ballet, and other unique live performances to be announced soon with the full line-up.
One of the highlights of the festival will be the award ceremony Stephen Hawking Medal for Science Communication, which rewards excellence in four categories: Music and Art, Scientific Writing, Film and Entertainment and Career. This year STARMUS, powered by ESET, is sponsored by VÚB Banka, OMEGA and KIA Slovakia. The festival will take place under the auspices of the President of the Slovak Republic and the Mayor of Bratislava and with the patronage of the Representation of the European Commission in Slovakia.
