Vectra AI integrates AI-based controls that identify the behavior of hackers targeting Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Copilot cloud services thus providing the necessary support to customers' native tools
Vectra AI, Inc., the leader in AI-powered XDR (extended detection and response), announces the extension of Platform Vectra AI which includes complete protection of Microsoft Azure environments. With the addition of over 40 unique attacker behavior detectors for Microsoft Azure, Vectra AI offers over 100 AI-powered hacker detectors. Customers can thus have a complete defense for hybrid and multi-cloud environments for the entire Microsoft environment: Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft M365, Microsoft Copilot for M365 and even Microsoft Azure.
According to Microsoft Digital Defense Report 2024, Microsoft customers deal with more than 600 million attacks per day from cybercriminals and nation states, ranging from ransomware to phishing to identity attacks. The growing attack surface, which includes on-premises data centers, network identities, cloud services and various endpoints, opens the door to greater vulnerabilities as more organizations adopt hybrid and multi-cloud environments. In this context, the migration to Microsoft Entra ID, the expansion to Azure and the adoption of Microsoft Copilot for M365 provide a wider range of access points for hackers, as confirmed by attacks launched by criminal groups such as Midnight Blizzard and Scattered Spider.
Vectra MDR Services reports a six-fold increase in attacks on Microsoft E5 customers between June and October 2024 alone; a trend that highlights the need for robust security measures. To support SOC teams, Vectra AI detections monitor over 40 Azure-specific attacker behaviors and over 100 that span Azure, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft M365, and Microsoft Copilot for M365, providing the most comprehensive library of behavior-based detection tools on the market.
"CISOs need AI to help them identify real threats, connect multiple dots in real time, and provide accurate, integrated alerts to SOCs. This is especially true for enterprises that need to protect rapidly expanding Microsoft environments within their organizations," says Hitesh Sheth, CEO and founder of Vectra AI. “No technology is better than our AI at providing integrated attack signals in real time.”
The Vectra AI platform provides highly reliable alerts using patented artificial intelligence Attack Intelligence Signal which continuously learns from customers' Microsoft environments to automatically identify attacker behaviors in the cloud and across the network. With Attack Signal Intelligence, Microsoft customers benefit from the hybrid and multi-cloud attack coverage, signal reliability, and targeted control they need to reduce the complexity of many non-integrated tools, remove operational latency, and maximize the time and talent of SOC teams.
“Vectra AI protects with detection patterns, deeply and truly examines the identities accessing Microsoft Azure and Office 365 and this gives us a complete picture,” says Fabian Heiz, CISO at Coop: “Vectra AI has been a good partner for the last eight years.”
“By expanding our protection to the Microsoft ecosystem with AI detections for Azure and Copilot, we are demonstrating to SOC teams that our unique 'Attack Signal Intelligence' technology offers an AI solution they can count on by providing a unique mix of advanced technology, contextual understanding and automation that other threat detection tools cannot offer,” concludes Jeff Reed, Chief Product Officer of Vectra AI.
