It is a non-competitive virtual run open to all, which will be held from 5 to 8 December for professional and non-professional athletes, also supporting the project 'Ibrahim Jammeh's Olympic Dream'
ESET, global leader in the cybersecurity market, is sponsor of the 5K TOP TRAINING by ESET, the event organized by Giorgio Rondelli, national track and field coach, to create a moment of comparison between professional and non-professional athletes, in a period in which competitive events are penalized by the health emergency.
The initiative is free and ESET is the main sponsor. Registrations are collected through the RunBull platform and, to register, you need to download the application, register and click on the 5K TOP TRAINING by ESET event. The event also raises funds to support the project "The Olympic dream of Ibrahim Jammeh", a young middle distance athlete from Gambia who is training for the next Olympics.
ESET is a company that has been dealing with cybersecurity for over thirty years and firmly believes in the values of sport. The initiative was promoted by Fabio Buccigrossi, current Italian vice-champion of the marathon in the SM50 category and Country Manager of ESET Italia.
"The last months of the lockdown must not make us lose our good habits and even in the face of difficulties we must always think positively - underlines Giorgio Rondelli, National Athletics Coach and sports commentator. The idea was born from a chat with Fabio, a company manager and a marathon runner, precisely to facilitate the development of synergies between sport and work. As a coach I always try to stimulate my athletes, reminding them that everyone must bring out the best in themselves to face new goals and try to achieve them, just as happens in modern businesses."
"This is only the first in a series of sports events that ESET will promote next year," he points out Fabio Buccigrossi, Country Manager of ESET Italy -. Personally, I believe that we all need constant motivation. Running every day is certainly challenging, but having a goal in front of us, such as a virtual race, provides us with the right stimulus for our daily life. In every sporting competition, we find excellent similarities regarding the determination necessary to achieve business objectives. The motivational charge is identical, we need the same energy that we must guarantee when organizing training sessions."
The results will be published on the site www.toptraining.it and in real time on the RunBull app. The results will be sorted by Absolute Time, i.e. normalized in ideal conditions (climatic and altimetric) by the RunBull algorithm. In this way, performances carried out on different routes and locations will be made comparable, providing the participant with an innovative estimate of their potential. The event is promotional and is linked to a fundraiser, so those registered are invited to share their participation on social media using the hashtag #5KToptraining.
The organization offers various merchandising product awards to the first three men and three women who achieve the best times in the general classification.
Among the participants have already joined many of the former Olympic athletes trained by Giorgio Rondelli, including Giovanna Epis, Alberto Cova, Lucilla Andreucci, Danilo Goffi, Marco Marchei, Elena Romagnolo, and many others.
