ESET, a global leader in the cybersecurity market, has been named a Strategic Leader in the Endpoint Prevention and Response (EPR) Comparative Report, one of the most comprehensive tests of endpoint detection and response (EDR) solutions ever conducted by AV-Comparatives.
The ESET PROTECT Enterprise bundle solution, which includes the ESET PROTECT management console, ESET Endpoint Security 7.3 and ESET Enterprise Inspector 1.4 – ESET's EDR solution – was tested in the Report.
AV-Comparatives, a leading independent testing firm well known for offering innovative analytics in real-world environments, subjected products from nine vendors to dozens of targeted attacks, each implemented with a variety of techniques and tactics.
In addition to traditional in-depth testing, AV-Comparatives has developed an Enterprise EPR CyberRisk Quadrant™ that takes into account each product's effectiveness in preventing breaches, the resulting calculated savings, the costs of purchasing the product, and its accuracy (in terms of costs incurred due to false positives). ESET with its solutions has been designated Strategic Leader in the quadrant, obtaining the highest certification. Strategic leaders are considered products that have a very high return on investment and provide a very low total cost of ownership thanks to exceptional technical capabilities, combined with reasonable costs. Strategic leaders develop innovative ideas and implement them excellently in their products.
ESET scored particularly high in the categories of active response, passive response and combined prevention/response capability, achieving the highest test percentages at 98%, 100% and 99% respectively. In the combined prevention category, only four of the nine vendors analyzed received a similar result.
As noted in the report, the ESET PROTECT Enterprise solution performed exceptionally well in dealing with user-facing threats, even before the threat progressed into the user environment. The intuitive and easy-to-use console was particularly appreciated, as was the contextual data provided to allow security experts to prioritize, mitigate and further investigate threats. In addition to threat data and intelligence, ESET solutions demonstrated good mapping to MITER ATT&CK®, allowing experts to increase their focus on a specific event when needed and provide additional defensive measures when available.
Andreas Clementi, CEO and founder of AV-Comparatives, commented: "ESET not only achieved the best combined prevention and response score in the test, but also demonstrated exceptional overall detection and reporting capabilities. The test results resulted in ESET achieving the lowest total cost of ownership (TCO) of all vendors analyzed and secured ESET's position as a Strategic Leader in this new AV-Comparatives test."
Juraj Malcho, Chief Technology Offker the EESTETE, noted: "We are proud of these results and to have been named a Strategic Leader by AV-Comparatives in such a rigorous and important new test. We want to always improve and innovate our cutting-edge solutions, and third-party testing is a critical step in confirming that we are delivering on our promises. The highest scores in this EPR test reflect our dedication to the security of our customers and our commitment to providing the highest standards of EDR and endpoint security solutions, both from a passive and defense perspective active".
