The award-winning solution has been further improved with new security functionality
ESET, a global leader in cybersecurity, has released version 6.0 of ESET Mobile Security (EMS), an award-winning solution that provides protection against a variety of Android mobile security threats such as malware and phishing. EMS has been further improved with the new payment protection feature for online transactions.
ESET Mobile Security protects users from data loss, theft and misuse with effective malware protection, as well as providing a safe browsing environment with anti-phishing. EMS also protects users from the loss or theft of their mobile phone through the my.eset.com service, which provides as much information as possible on the status and location of the device in real time.
Mobile Security 6.0 in the premium version also introduces a new security function: Payment Protection, which protects users from applications that use sensitive financial information such as banking transactions and online purchases.
This feature automatically classifies all apps downloaded from the Google Play Store that fall into the “Finance” category and scans them for potential threats. The user also has the option to manually add other installed apps to the list that may not fall into the category.
The "safe launcher" icon is added to the user's list of applications and from there it is possible to launch the Apps relating to sensitive financed data in complete safety, protected from malware and from Apps that attempt to steal credentials by replicating the login screens. If an App is not launched through the safe launcher, Mobile Security will continue to perform basic scanning for unresolved issues, open network usage, and analyzing the device's root status.
Confirming the great commitment made to advanced protection of Android devices, ESET was awarded the certificate of the same name by MRG Effitas within the Android 360° Assessment Program Q1 2020. MRG Effitas is an independent world leader in testing, research and expertise in IT security. As the report highlights, Android devices are used by approximately 2.3 billion people worldwide, and with Android-based malware on the rise, it's critical that antivirus solutions protect against 100% of threats.
Version 6.0 adds further improvements in intuitiveness, functionality and ease of use, such as the “Call Filter” feature that helps protect you from unwanted calls, and the redesign of the Anti-Theft feature to allow for easier onboarding and password resetting.
