Ivanti acquires Cherwell to enable end-to-end service and asset management

by Grandangolo Communications / Monday, 08 February 2021 / Published in Ivanti

The acquisition consolidates Ivanti as the only Enterprise Service Management vendor able to offer end-to-end services and asset management, from IT to business lines and from every endpoint to the IoT edge

Ivanti Inc., the automation platform that helps make every IT connection smarter and more secure, announced it has signed the definitive agreement to acquire Cherwell Software, a global leader in Enterprise Service Management solutions. Terms of the Cherwell transaction were not disclosed.

Ivanti acquires Cherwell to expand Neurons platform capabilities, providing end-to-end services and asset management from IT to lines of business and from every endpoint to the IoT edge. The company will continue to maintain and invest in both the Cherwell and Ivanti service management platforms, while working to bring together the best aspects of each. Neurons hyper-automation platform, accelerates this vision by connecting Unified Endpoint Management (UEM), Security and Enterprise Service Management (ESM) solutions and providing a single pane of glass to enable the repair, automatic protection of devices and support of end users, in a proactive, predictable and autonomous way. Upon completion of the transaction, the company will be led by Jim Schaper, President and CEO of Ivanti.

"The combination of Cherwell and Ivanti helps accelerate our innovation in correspondence with Unified Endpoint Management (UEM), Secutity and Enterprise Service Management (ESM) solutions," he said Jim Schaper . "The combination of our two companies, with capabilities to develop and deploy robust, complementary products, will further unlock the potential of our platform by servicing all IT assets and endpoints in the Everywhere Enterprise. Together, we will build an advanced, vertical-focused Enterprise Service Management solution. And Neurons – our AI-powered platform, which will be at the center of this transformation – moves us from a point-level solution to a fully integrated platform for our users."

"We are thrilled to join Ivanti and help customers achieve better business results, innovate faster and digitally transform their businesses with a unified IT management solution," he said Sam Gilliland, CEO of Cherwell. “Regarding the world of work, Ivanti shares our belief that automated and safe workflows can drastically change and improve the daily lives of employees, while at the same time promoting concrete business results. We look forward to continuing to innovate to meet the growing market demand for new approaches to work, offering our customers the essential tools they need to face the IT challenges associated with the new normal.
