The two companies worked together to make the Redmond giant's Cloud service more flexible and in line with new needs
Computer Center, a consultancy company specializing in IT products, services and solutions for companies, has supported Energy, a private and independent provider of custom engineering services and projects, in the process of optimizing the Microsoft Azure infrastructure.
Enereco has been designing plants for the production, transport and storage of hydrocarbons since 1988, as well as carrying out project management and procurement services. With headquarters in Fano, an annual turnover of 42 million euros and over 300 employees, the company aims, in the energy sector, to minimize environmental impact through innovative solutions.
Enereco has always had the need for large storage spaces which today reach, for projects alone, 2 TB per year. Hence the need for a constant review of the IT organization and search for new solutions to satisfy ever-increasing needs, without excessively burdening the costs or the necessary personnel, and at the same time maintaining a good quality level of the service.
The transition to Cloud services was an obligatory choice and Enereco, since 2012, began a progressive migration of resources and backup systems towards the Microsoft Azure platform, which over time was followed by the migration of the email server both for a question of occupied space and for a growing need for service continuity.
Centro Computer has been collaborating on the improvement of Enereco's IT infrastructure since 2014, the year in which a first joint project for the migration to the Microsoft Exchange email system took shape, with the purchase of the licenses and associated services.
In 2020, the system integrator was involved in the project to optimize costs and the method of using Enereco's Cloud services.
The Centro Computer specialists were therefore entrusted with the task of analyzing existing services and imagining a customer-friendly proposal.
The analysis carried out by the system integrator led Enereco to decide to migrate existing Azure resources to the Microsoft CSP (Cloud Solution Provider) program managed by Centro Computer because it is capable of providing performance tailored to the real needs of the company.
Centro Computer's team of specialists coordinated all activities, from pre-sales to design and system activities. Thanks to meticulous planning, the implementation activity was carried out in a short time, limiting the hours of disruption to a minimum and concentrating them in non-working hours.
“Cloud services are essential for a company like ours but we felt the need to rely on a partner capable of providing us with a service more in line with our real needs and which would relieve us of a whole series of administrative problems – he says Antonio Vergine, Information Systems Manager at Enereco. – With the migration to Centro Computer's CSP program we can manage Azure resources with greater flexibility and with savings in terms of Return of Investment of around ten percent".
“We are grateful to Enereco for having entrusted us with this project and for having focused on the competence and professionalism of Centro Computer – is the comment of Walter Sau, Commercial Officer of Centro Computer – It was stimulating and at the same time rewarding to design a solution that fully responded to the customer's request and was flexible, scalable and economically competitive."
