It is one of the first SaaS solutions for real-time cyber threat detection and response, natively cloud and unified for AWS environments
Vectra AI, a leading provider of cyber threat detection and remediation, announced Detect for Amazon Web Services (AWS). It is a cloud-native SaaS solution that provides cyber threat detection, prioritization, investigation, and response to attacks that target applications in AWS environments, as well as users, computers, and storage, including using the same control plane on AWS. Detect for AWS operates continuously, scalably and without the need for human intervention: it works both at runtime and holistically across all AWS Regions and does not require packet mirroring.
The speed and ease with which the digital environment is transformed today have pushed many IT teams to convert their traditional on-premises infrastructures into cloud-native architectures, with the result of increasing the use of Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) applications. As the speed of cloud adoption increases, so does the risk of introducing security issues into cloud environments.
"Security is the number one priority at Sephora. This requires having security tools that can help my IT teams gain deep visibility that goes beyond the initial compromise and extraction detection," he emphasizes John Byun, Senior Architect of Information Security di Sephora. “To scale our cloud operations even more securely, we need deep, granular visibility and context into compromised identities, privileged escalations, and lateral movement of threats across assets, without the need to outsource management to additional agents.”
Vectra's Detect for AWS solution enables organizations to:
- reduce the risk of cloud services being exploited by cybercriminalsthrough agentless, automatic run-time monitoring of applications, users, roles, serverless compute, and storage, enabling rapid and scalable application deployment
- quickly detect threats directed to your systems and data on AWS, using one of the first behavioral AIs that detects and prioritizes threats without relying on signatures, agents and static policies, protecting against attacks that seek to exploit misconfigured services
- automatically respond to attacks on applications on AWS, using native capabilities in AWS or deep integrations with other security solutions, allowing teams to mitigate threats without relying on agents alone.
By observing and studying attacker behavior, cloud accounts, roles, permissions, and deployment configurations for cloud workloads, Vectra AI behavioral models detect and stop attacks on AWS applications without disrupting operations. Part of the platform Cognito Vectra AI, Detect for AWS is the first and only solution that can monitor attacks, compromised users and roles in every region with a single, holistic view. This allows organizations to more reliably migrate, develop, and deploy an ever-increasing number of AWS applications, reducing the risk of introducing security issues.
“We are happy that Vectra AI continues to collaborate with AWS and integrate its solutions to work with AWS security services and marketplace,” he says Dan Plastina, Vice President, External Security Services at AWS. “Our customers want solutions that work together to achieve increasing visibility and greater security, without significantly increasing the complexity of operations.”
“More than 70% of our customers who have adopted AWS use at least four AWS services, and many use up to more than 21 different services,” he explains Massimiliano Galvagna, Country Manager for Italy of Vectra AI. "Considering how AWS is now a decisive component for the daily operations of companies, it is essential that applications operating in that environment are protected from lateral movements on the cloud. And we are convinced that there is no better solution than Detect for AWS to achieve this result."
