ESET, a global European leader in the cybersecurity market, has supported the Raicam Group, a company specialized in the design, development and production of brakes, clutches and actuators for the automotive industry, in redefining the security of systems and endpoints.
Founded in 1982 by the current president Nicola Di Sipio, an expert in engines, as a small mechanical workshop for the production of brakes, in the Manoppello Scalo production site near Pescara, over the years Raicam has expanded its product range with a series of important acquisitions including Automotive Products Italia srl, a leading company in Europe in the design, development and production of clutches, and AP Driveline Technologies Ltd - today Raicam Clutch Ltd - thus also acquiring a 100-year history in the production of high quality braking and clutch systems.
In 2015 Raicam began its expansion into the Asian market with the construction of the first R&D center in India while in 2016 the first productions of the new Indian plant began for the supply of original equipment components for the local market. In 2018 Raicam doubled its size by acquiring the hydraulic actuators business, thus extending its presence in Türkiye and China and expanding its product range. Over time the company has always paid great attention to the quality and safety of its range of products and services, thus managing to become an expert partner and reliable supplier for the automotive industry around the world.
Many of the most famous manufacturers have chosen to work with Raicam precisely in consideration of the safety and quality of its products; Today, some of the most recognizable cars on the road feature Raicam components, from the most common sedans to the highest performing luxury segments.
Being a company present in multiple international locations, Raicam found the need to adopt a security solution that could guarantee complete coverage on a global level. In addition to this, the need arose to adopt a system that could be simple in terms of management but which, at the same time, could guarantee a high level of protection. Another important factor that led the company to evaluate an alternative solution to the one previously adopted was the integration of the Endpoint Protection solution with XDR technology in a simple way and without excessive use of resources; the objective was to guarantee centralized control of all security components through a single management console, without placing an additional workload on the individual internal teams.
The needs that emerged internally at Raicam led the company to choose ESET as the global vendor of reference to which to entrust the security of the various production sites located throughout Italy and internationally.
The technological choice fell on ESET PROTECT Enterprise which, through the same management console, allows you to integrate the various Endpoint Protection technologies with ESET Inspect, ESET's XDR – Extended Detection and Response – solution, also including MDR – Managed Detection and Response services.
ESET Inspect allows you to proactively respond to security needs for the protection of company data and devices, keeping the security status of the entire company network under control, identifying anomalous behavior and any data breaches, carrying out risk assessments and, finally, through collaboration with ESET Managed Detection and Response Ultimate, the MDR detection and response service provided directly by ESET, implements incident response, investigation and remediation actions to identify any critical situations
Raicam, with the adoption of ESET's multi-level approach to security, was able to take advantage of a high-level security system without necessarily having to acquire specialized IT resources internally. The possibility of using an MDR service available 24/7 allows the customer to keep the security status of their network monitored continuously, without the risk of interruptions due to lack of personnel. This has led to a containment of company costs, greater interaction between the IT departments of each individual production site and an improvement in terms of market positioning. The adoption of a high-level cybersecurity system, such as the one offered by ESET, has allowed Raicam to respond positively to various customer audits, brilliantly exceeding the required security standards.
