The graphic design company relies on the platform with autonomous response capabilities to remotely protect endpoints, workloads and collaborators
When it comes to business infrastructure, most companies have on-premise servers and networks. But Canva is different: the online design and visual communication platform is in fact offered exclusively in the cloud. To defend the ever-widening attack surface, the company redesigns its approach to security, thanks to the support of SentinelOne, provider of a cybersecurity platform with autonomous response capabilities,
“Our context is quite particular,” he said Raymond Schippers, Head of Detection and Response di Canva. “We all work in the cloud and our collaborators work remotely, so we have to making sure that our endpoints are really well protected and that workloads are safeguarded. This means being able to quickly and easily identify which applications are installed on our developers' computers and across the entire environment, and in the event of vulnerabilities, acting quickly to resolve the issues."
To do this, the company relied on SentinelOne.
Visibility, protection and responsiveness
“When it comes to threat detection and response, you need visibility and control,” Schippers said. “Prevention is the key, but nothing can be 100% predicted all the time. Consequently, it is essential to immediately understand what has occurred, quickly analyze the environment and try to remedy it as quickly as possible."
Singularity™ XDR acts in an intelligent and integrated way, allowing companies to:
- Eliminate blind spots with cross-stack visibility
- Detect unseen attacks with cross-stack correlation
- Automatically enrich threats with integrated threat intelligence
- Automate responsiveness in all contexts
- Easily integrate with other technologies in the SentinelOne ecosystem
- Scale security operations and increase SOC efficiency
“The increased visibility that SentinelOne is able to offer us is incredible,” continues Schippers. “The platform is not only able to identify potential attacks, but also to identify new use cases for various software.”
Singularity XDR's ability to record structured, unstructured and semi-structured data from any product or technology platform in real time is also paying off.
“With many vendors, there are limitations on what data can be controlled and how they can provide that visibility,” commented Schippers. “But with SentinelOne there's pretty much feature parity across platforms – Mac, Windows and Linux – and that's been incredibly helpful for us, because our security experts no longer have to worry about, 'What platform is this? What are the limitations we have on this platform? What are the potential visibility gaps?”. They know that we have reliable reporting of what is happening on the endpoint through EDR and can respond quickly to attacks, regardless of the platform they are on.”
The implementation of Singularity
“As attacks become more sophisticated, the ability to respond quickly will become much more important,” concluded Schippers. “SentinelOne is an important partner, enabling us to rapidly increase our security capabilities and manage future threats today.”
