The new Vertiv™ TimberMod™ model can significantly reduce your carbon footprint compared to alternative steel solutions
Vertiv, (NYSE: VRT), a global provider of critical digital infrastructure and continuity solutions, today introduced the innovative Vertiv™ TimberMod™ of the lines Vertiv™ Power Module e SmartMod™, which involves the use of solid wood as the main structural component to replace steel for the construction of prefabricated modular (PFM) data center solutions.
Available in North America and Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), this innovation reflects Vertiv's commitment to supporting customers' sustainability goals by using a more environmentally friendly material that minimizes resource consumption and CO emissions2.
Solid wood, when sourced from sustainably harvested timber, is considered a renewable building material with the potential to minimize resource consumption and reduce the carbon footprint by up to three times compared to steel, thanks to the reduction of CO emissions.2 associated with the product life cycle, from the point of origin to the assembly site and the transport of materials and structural elements. This eco-sustainable choice is in line with Vertiv's philosophy of providing solutions that meet high performance standards and also contribute to global efforts to reduce CO emissions2.
Vertiv TimberMod meets the structural requirements of buildings, ensuring optimal performance in case of seismic activity, strong winds and architectural needs. In addition to its technical properties, this innovative solution adds aesthetic value to the data center architecture, integrating perfectly into different environments with an elegant design.
