ESET Italia alongside Audi Zentrum Alessandria in security management

The Group, a historic ESET customer, has decided to integrate the broad portfolio of solutions already in adoption with the MDR services offered by the vendor

ESET, a global European leader in the cybersecurity market, expands its collaboration with the Audi Zentrum Alessandria Group, which has chosen to also entrust the ESET team of security experts with monitoring and remediation activities.

Audi Zentrum Alessandria S.p.A., a group led by Dindo Capello, official Audi driver for 19 years and three-time winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, includes the four official Audi dealerships in Alessandria, Asti, Alba and Cuneo. Over the years the Group has been able to establish itself as one of the top companies in Italy for results, personalization of services and attention to the customer. The validity and completeness of the offer, the professionalism of the staff and the fundamental role of President Capello are an integral part of the success of the structure.

Audi Zentrum Alessandria is a historic ESET customer: the collaboration with the vendor dates back to 2006 when the Group decided to migrate the company's entire security infrastructure to the vendor's platform, to prevent security problems that were already present over 15 years ago. Initially, the basic protection of the individual endpoints was entrusted to ESET, then with the worsening of the spread of cyber threats, the customer decided to further raise the security level, adopting the solution internally ESET PROTECT Enterprise.

In 2022, with the official release of the MDR - Managed Detection & Response services, provided in Italian by ESET Italia, the Audi Zentrum Alessandria Group took a further step forward in corporate security, choosing to entrust the monitoring and remediation phase to ESET's cybersecurity expert team.

The service ESET Detection and Response Ultimate represented the best response to the customer's needs.

On a technological level, the solutions present in ESET PROTECT Enterprise allow you to:

- centrally manage the entire security infrastructure, with the single ESET PROTECT console;

-protect the various company devices on the network, such as computers and smartphones, thanks to ESET Endpoint Security;

-ensure the protection of data on company servers, with ESET Server Security;

-block zero-day threats and any ransomware attacks, analyzing suspicious files through cloud sandboxing technology (ESET Liveguard Advanced);

-protect sensitive and confidential data managed by the company by implementing a robust and reliable encryption system with ESET Full Disk Encryption

-identify any anomalous behavior through ESET's XDR – eXtended Detection and Response module (ESET Inspect) which, collaborating with other ESET technologies present in the customer's infrastructure, supports the provision of ESET's MDR services.

Furthermore, to deal with the continuous attacks that exploited email as the main vector and to further increase the security of its users and employees, the Group has also decided to adopt the solution ESET Cloud Office Security which, through the protection of Microsoft 365 apps such as Teams, Exchange, OneDrive and SharePoint, allows you to implement anti-spam, anti-malware and anti-phishing filters and better manage the quarantine through a simple management console.

Thanks to the adoption of ESET technologies that collaborate and support the provision of the related MDR services, the Audi Zentrum Alessandria Group has been able to improve the level of security of the company systems and the data managed in them over time.

The low impact on system resources, and the possibility of preventing any intrusion into the cyber threat network, are the main benefits found in over 15 years of using the vendor's solutions. Following the adoption of MDR services, the customer was able to benefit from a continuous and collaborative relationship with the team of experts present at the local branch who are operational 24 hours a day to keep the security status of the company network under control.

By highlighting any critical situations only when needed and directly managing the incident response and remediation activities necessary to bring the system back to safety, the adoption of MDR services has allowed the client's IT team to both optimize their time by managing activities that were previously "secondary" to network monitoring and to be able to rely on sector experts with a high level of expertise.

Finally, through the migration from the on-premise mode, initially adopted, to the current cloud mode, the Group was able to extend ESET protection also to Android and iOS devices used by corporate users, managing the devices present in the network through a single console.
