Vertiv, (NYSE: VRT), a global provider of critical digital infrastructure and continuity solutions, has released its Responsible Business Report per il 2023, which illustrates the progress made in the individual sectors of interest and presents the 'One Vertiv, One World' business model, aimed at promoting the values linked to environmental protection and the promotion of a safe, inclusive workplace committed to managing the business responsibly.
Also in 2023, Vertiv continued to pursue the objective of ensuring a more responsible future, focusing on efficient products and systems, conscious operational processes, people, neighboring territories, supply chain integrity and governance. Recognizing the critical role that technology and data center companies play in the global energy environment, the “One Vertiv, One World” model will help guide the company's next steps as it seeks to realize long-term value for customers, shareholders and the communities in which it operates.

The interventions and initiatives indicated in the 2023 report include:
- An expanded offering of high-efficiency liquid cooling solutions and low-GWP (Global Warming Potential) refrigerants to help Vertiv customers improve their AI initiatives and enable performance with lower environmental impact.
- The acquisition of CoolTera Ltd. (CoolTera), a company that designs and manufactures high-efficiency liquid cooling solutions, adds additional expertise, control tools and advanced cooling systems to Vertiv's already robust thermal management product portfolio.
- The new Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) with lithium-ion batteries that provides a large-scale energy storage system that can be used as continuous power, helping customers drive operational resilience, avoid peak demand and rely more on distributed alternative energy resources such as solar panels, wind turbines and hydrogen fuel cells to reduce CO₂ emissions and ensure reliability. The microgrid solution opened at Vertiv's Delaware, Ohio, facility as a Customer Experience Center, leveraging both solar arrays and hydrogen fuel cells as alternative energy sources that will provide power for Vertiv's operations and operate as an experimental laboratory to demonstrate the low-CO₂ solution to customers.
- The introduction of Vertiv™ TimberMod™, which features solid timber as a key structural component in place of steel for prefabricated modular (PFM) data center solutions, minimizing resource use and the product's CO₂ footprint compared to steel alternatives.
- A renewed Guide to Data Center Sustainability with updated statistics and other useful information for Vertiv customers and other stakeholders.
- An update on Vertiv's operational efficiency efforts to track and monitor the company's key environmental impacts and refine processes to optimize the collection of metrics related to CO₂ emissions, energy consumption, water use, waste production and recycling. A notable example is the plant's water recovery system in Monterrey, Mexico, which reduces dependence on the city's water supply by collecting water from air conditioning units used to cool the plant and transforming it into water that can be used for other purposes.
