The report awards this recognition to Vectra AI for using advanced Machine Learning and AI solutions capable of providing clear signals on hacker behavior with high accuracy and across all hybrid network infrastructures
Vectra AI, Inc., a leader in AI-based extended detection and response (XDR), was named among the leaders and outperformers in the GigaOm Radar Report for Network Detection and Response (NDR). Vectra AI was recognized for its NDR technology, Vectra NDR, the industry's most advanced AI-based attack defense solution capable of identifying and blocking malicious tactics across hybrid network infrastructures.
Network detection and response (NDR) solutions play a critical role in today's security stack. Organizations continue to expand their digital footprint and as a result the complexity and volume of network traffic is increasing exponentially. These trends, combined with a rapidly evolving threat landscape and the growing sophistication of attackers, require a more dynamic approach to cybersecurity. NDR solutions fill an important gap by providing comprehensive network visibility and continuous threat detection capabilities. Advances in artificial intelligence and machine learning (ML) are helping to further improve the capabilities of NDR solutions to detect and respond to increasingly advanced attacks, strengthening enterprise defenses. We are also seeing a growing convergence between NDR and Extended Detection and Response (XDR) to unify detection and response capabilities across an organization's entire hybrid attack environment.
The GigaOm Radar report examined 29 leading NDR systems, comparing offerings across three main categories: key features, emerging features, and business requirements. The results provide companies with important information to guide purchasing decisions with the aim of helping them implement a solution capable of addressing current cybersecurity challenges, also in light of future threats and constant technological advances.
Vectra NDR – part of Vectra AI platform – Provides the visibility into network threats that businesses need in their environment. Vectra NDR manages data center networks, cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP IaaS) and IoT/OT systems with complete visibility of incoming and outgoing attacks and can be deployed on-premise or in the cloud, providing SOC teams with actionable signals within hours. Vectra AI's platform is based on an approach that goes from NDR to XDR, placing network and identity as the first lines of defense against today's hybrid attacks.
GigaOm rated Vectra AI a five-star provider for several key features: intelligent anomaly detection, integrated flow data, metadata threat detection, automated response and regulatory compliance. Also in emerging capabilities, Vectra AI received five stars for custom data lake integration, core network integrations, generative/predictive AI, automated response playbook, and managed NDR. Vectra AI achieved the highest average score in GigaOm's enterprise criteria, receiving five stars in seven of eight categories, including interoperability, performance and support. Regarding Vectra AI's strengths as an NDR solution, GigaOm further added: “It captures rich network metadata, uses AI-based analytics for high-fidelity threat detection, covers more than 90% of MITER ATT&CK techniques, reduces alert noise by more than 80%, and integrates with a wide range of security tools.”
"The NDR market continues to evolve and we are proud to see our expertise and innovative approach to using artificial intelligence being recognized in a leadership position. At a time when the hybrid attack surface is expanding and traditional tools are not equipped to identify such attacks, it is not surprising to see that NDR and XDR are converging naturally," said Jeff Reed, Chief Product Officer at Vectra AI. "The Vectra AI platform, from NDR, extends across identity, SaaS and public cloud as the leading
