New advanced features in ESET HOME to ensure security and privacy for the whole family
ESET, the global European leader in the cybersecurity market, presented the updated version of its offering for the consumer market, ESET HOME Security, which introduces new features such as ESET Folder Guard and Multithread Scanning, along with an overall feature enhancement. Identity Protection*, including Dark Web Monitoring, has been made available globally.
The improvements to ESET HOME Security, as an all-in-one solution for the consumer market, respond to the increase in advanced, automated and AI-based threats targeting users and growing concerns around data privacy, ransomware attacks, phishing and online scams.
Despite being equipped with the most advanced technologies, ESET HOME Security is easy to use thanks to ESET HOME, a complete security management platform available for all major operating systems — Windows, macOS, Android, iOS — and compatible with devices typically used by home users. Now, ESET HOME Security offers even more effective protection for the whole family.
"As a vendor at the forefront of digital life protection, ESET is committed to staying one step ahead of the competition. Our team of experts has created a powerful protection solution that combines over 30 years of human expertise with artificial intelligence, multi-layered security technology and active cloud protection. Following a prevention-oriented approach, which stops threats before they can cause damage, ESET HOME Security gives you peace of mind in terms of privacy and security, while remaining intuitive, powerful, lightweight and fast," he said Viktória Ivanová, Vice President of Consumer and IoT Segment at ESET.
Complementing the long list of existing protection layers, including Antivirus & Antispyware, Firewall, Ransomware Shield, Anti-Phishing, Safe Banking, Safe Browsing, Password Manager, VPN, and Anti-Theft — just to name a few — new features and updates have been added:
New Dark Web Monitoring — ESET Identity Protection* analyzes dark web sites and chat rooms, blogs and other data sources to detect the illegal trading of users' personal information. ESET technology delivers timely alerts so users can take action immediately.
New ESET Folder Guard — This technology protects Windows users' important data from malicious apps and threats, such as ransomware, worms, and wipers (data-compromising malware). Users can create a list of protected folders: files in these folders cannot be modified or deleted by unauthorized applications.
New Multithread Scanning — Improves scanning performance for multicore processor devices on Windows by distributing scan requests across available CPU cores. There can be as many scanning threads as there are processor cores.
New Link Scanner — This new option improves functionality Anti-Phishing of ESET Mobile Security which, in general, blocks potential phishing attacks coming from websites or domains listed in ESET's database. The Link Scanner is an additional layer of protection for Android smartphone users that allows ESET Mobile Security to check every link the user tries to open, not just those from supported sites and social networking apps. For example, if a user receives a phishing link in a gaming app and opens it, the link is first redirected to the ESET Mobile Security app, where it is verified, before being redirected to the browser. If the user uses an unsupported browser, Link Scanner will block the malicious link.
Gamer Mode Optimized — This feature is for users who want to experience uninterrupted gaming sessions through pop-up windows and want to minimize CPU usage. The improved version allows users to create a list of apps that automatically activate gamer mode. For more cautious gamers, there's also a new option to display interactive alerts while gamer mode is active.
Password Manager Enhanced — ESET Password Manager now includes an option to log out remotely when logged in on other devices. Users can monitor the strength of their passwords by checking if they are on compromised password lists and view a security report that informs users if they use weak or duplicate passwords. Password Manager also has a built-in option to use third-party programs like two-factor authentication (2FA).
Advanced cybersecurity for Mac users — The versions of ESET HOME Security per Mac include a new unified firewall with both basic and advanced configuration options present in the main graphical interface. This makes the solution tailored to user needs, without unnecessary settings.
This robust all-in-one security solution is ideal for those seeking protection not only for general cybersecurity, but also for privacy, identity protection, performance optimization, device protection and smart home protection.
