ESET, a global European leader in the cybersecurity market, has announced new updates for the ESET PROTECT platform, including Ransomware Remediation
A new tool designed to prevent the ransomware encryption from causing prolonged interruptions of corporate activities, together with new features for ESET Cloud Office Security and for EXT Ai Advisor. These new technologies were presented in Las Vegas during the ESET World 2025.
With the continuous increase in the complexity of the ransomware attacks, the actors of the threats aim to compromise almost every aspect of security and corporate stability. A well -known and widespread technique is the encryption of data, which prevents access to devices and information stored. This causes expensive operational interruptions and often forces companies to pay to decrypt their systems. The attackers frequently target system backups, such as those based on Shadow Copy volume, eliminating or damaging them immediately after the infection, making recovery almost impossible with the consequent increase in the costs of Remediation.
Based on ESET Livesense, the Ransomware Remediation functionality works together with Ransomware Shield to immediately create backups until the system establishes if the suspected activity is harmful or harmless. In case of threat, Ransomware Shield interrupts the process and restores the files using the backups that have just been created. If the activity proves legitimate, the backups can be eliminated. Unlike other solutions, Ransomware Remediation has a protected storage area on the disc, where the files cannot be modified, damaged or deleted by an attacker. This distinctive element resolves one of the most common deficiencies of traditional backups in case of ransomware attack. Ransomware Remediation is available for Windows systems and is offered free of charge to customers who use ESET Protect starting from the Advanced level.

Updates to email Security and Advisor
ESET added the anti-Spoofing protection and against the Homoglyphs to the ESET Cloud Office Security module, preventing attackers from pretending to be reliable senders and detecting attempts to mask domains or Dominous URLs with the use of similar aspect letters but belonging to different alphabets. In addition, ESET Cloud Office Security now also includes the functionality of email clawback, which allows the rapid recall and quarantine of the emails delivered deemed suspicious. The new dashboard have been graphically improved and offer completely customizable cards and components based on the needs of the user.
ESET also expanded the availability of Ai Advisor to Edr/XDR customers, including those who use ESET Protect Enterprise, ESET Protect Elite and Entect MDR - with updates that improve its performance. Thanks to the investments in AI, companies can access consultancy provided by the members, improving the workflows of safety analysts. Unlike other tools on the market and typical generative assistants focused on device administration or management functionality, ESET Ai Advisor integrates perfectly into the daily activities of analysts. This is an important novelty for companies with limited IT resources, which want to exploit the advantages of advanced XDR solutions and Threat Intelligence feeds.
