ESET releases Cloud Workload Protection and AI improvements for ESET PROTECT customers

by Grandangolo Communications / Monday, 23 March 2026 / Published in Eset

ESET protects Virtual Machines (VMs) in the cloud from advanced threats with the new ESET Cloud Workload Protection module. While competitors often offer cloud workload protection as a stand-alone solution, ESET offers it at no cost to ESET PROTECT customers. Additional updates include advanced AI-powered reporting capabilities for ESET's cloud sandboxing technology with autonomous remediation, enhanced investigations and expanded integration for AI Advisor in the ESET PROTECT console

ESET, a global European leader in the cybersecurity market, today announced the release of ESET Cloud Workload Protection as part of a comprehensive update ESET PROTECT Platform. Presented atRSA Conference 2026, this new module allows customers to go beyond endpoints and servers to include cloud workloads, significantly enriching telemetry for detection and response and consolidating security management of endpoints and cloud environments into a single, centralized console.

“Many companies, particularly in the midmarket segment, as well as MSPs, have progressively adopted cloud capabilities such as Vitual Machines to improve productivity,” said Michal Jankech, Vice President, Enterprise & SMB/MSP at ESET. “About 80% of organizations consider the fundamental public cloud for digital business initiatives. With ESET Cloud Workload Protection we have reduced the attack surface for customers by extending protection to virtual machines operating in AWS, Azure and GCP environments.”

ESET's Cloud Workload Protection module protects virtual machines in public cloud environments by integrating cloud VM data into the ESET PROTECT XDR platform to obtain extended visibility. While competitors often offer this protection as a separate solution, ESET includes it at no additional cost to ESET PROTECT customers (with the exception of the ESET PROTECT Entry product).

With a average cost of a data breach in the public cloud reaching $5.17 million per incident — the highest among all environments — the new module reduces complexity through AI-based automation and provides customers with a richer set of tools to respond to threats at every stage of an attack. Known for its lightweight nature, the module helps IT managers validate controls and generate audit evidence for regulatory frameworks such as NIST, CIS, HIPAA, PCI DSS and others.

Further improvements to ESET PROTECT include:

  • New AI reporting in ESET LiveGuard Advanced, which simplifies the work of security specialists by providing behavioral reports that detail actions and characteristics of incidents analyzed by ESET's cloud sandbox, with autonomous remediation. For subscriptions with XDR features enabled, reports are integrated with AI-generated summaries that simplify complex findings.
  • Incident Graphs improved and Advanced Investigations for customers EDR and XDR provide a clear visual representation of each incident, allowing security teams to quickly understand the attack, identify the initial entry point and monitor its evolution over time. Incident Graphs now includes richer contextual insights, such as identity information, as well as overall quality improvements, which support faster and more effective investigations and responses. The features of Advanced Search enable rapid and flexible investigations into security indicators and related events from multiple security perimeters.
  • ESET AI Advisor has been integrated into the ESET PROTECT console to improve usability and simplify access to this assistant, previously only available in a dedicated section of ESET Inspect Incidents.
