Vertiv consolidates system-level infrastructure projects to support NVIDIA's new AI infrastructures
Vertiv (NYSE: VRT), a global leader in critical digital infrastructure, adds a milestone to its collaboration with NVIDIA to accelerate the next generation of AI Factory, detailing its progress in developing AI 800 VDC power architecture designs. Starting fromstrategic alignment announced in May 2025, Vertiv has made significant progress in developing a platform to support its unit of compute strategy, moving from concept to engineering realization. The 800 VDC solution portfolio is expected to be released in the second half of 2026, in line with the release of NVIDIA Rubin Ultra platforms, expected in 2027.
From project to execution
The data center industry is at an inflection point today: Traditional 54 VDC distribution within racks, designed for kilowatt-scale racks, cannot meet the needs of megawatt-scale accelerated computing. To meet this challenge, Vertiv and NVIDIA are collaborating on the development of scalable Vertiv™ 800 VDC systems and integrated with energy storage devices, creating the foundation for AI Factory optimized for synchronous large-scale AI and high-performance computing workloads. Vertiv is defining component specifications for complete platform designs, which include centralized rectifiers, high-efficiency DC distribution lines (DC busways), and rack-level DC-DC converters, designed to support the megawatt-scale needs of future NVIDIA computing systems.
