Vertiv (NYSE: VRT), a global leader in critical digital infrastructure solutions, and GreenScale, a leading developer of hyperscale data center campuses, announce a strategic collaboration to offer factory-integrated data center platforms designed for next-generation AI workloads in Europe.
Following a competitive pre-qualification (PQQ) process, GreenScale has selected Vertiv as the preferred supplier for Vertiv™ OneCore prefabricated hybrid data centers. While GreenScale will manage the “slab-down” construction and site-level infrastructure, Vertiv will provide AI-ready data center modules, designed to support liquid-cooled implementations of NVIDIA Grace Blackwell GB200/300 GPUs, including next-generation Vera Rubin GPUs.
“AI workloads require density and speed,” says Vedran Brzic, VP infrastructure solutions business EMEA at Vertiv. "By integrating the Vertiv OneCore platform into GreenScale's standard design, we can help accelerate the deployment of scalable infrastructure for AI, high-performance computing (HPC), and high-density computing. Our pre-built, scalable solution integrates proven power, cooling, and IT infrastructure technologies into a single factory-assembled system, helping customers deploy high-density capacity more efficiently, increasing reliability and performance."
The Vertiv OneCore platform supports over 200 kW per rack and includes refrigerant distribution units (CDU) with a dual-circuit liquid cooling system. The platform is supported by the elevated prefabricated infrastructure Vertiv™ SmartRun, which includes an integrated secondary fluid network (SFN) for liquid-cooled thermal management, optimized for GPU-intensive architectures and power distribution. Modules arrive pre-fabricated and pre-tested, while GreenScale provides complete site services, including grid integration, permitting, battery monitoring systems (BMS) and slab-down construction.
“The collaboration with Vertiv aligns perfectly with GreenScale's vision to rapidly deploy highly efficient, AI-ready infrastructure across Europe,” emphasizes Dan Thomas, CEO of GreenScale. "By standardizing on Vertiv's prefabricated platforms, we gain significant advantages in time to market, quality control and operational efficiency. Their proven expertise in high-density cooling solutions and factory-integrated approach help us minimize complexity on the construction site, allowing us to optimize our facilities for the most demanding AI workloads. The standardized platform approach is key to realizing our ambitious expansion plans in Northern Ireland and the Nordics."
GreenScale plans to expand with approximately 120 MW in Northern Ireland and over 300 MW in the Nordics, with a long-term vision to deploy almost 1 GW across Europe. The company intends to implement an innovative high-performance computing model, aligning objectives and timelines with technology providers capable of efficiently offering scalable, AI-ready solutions.
