The Vertiv™ PowerUPS 6000 Industrial UPS offers reliable power protection for mission-critical operations in challenging industrial environments
Vertiv (NYSE: VRT), a global leader in critical digital infrastructure, presents the Vertiv™ PowerUPS 6000 Industrial power system (UPS)., designed to provide reliable power protection for commercial and industrial (C&I) environments. The solution supports the activities of sectors such as manufacturing, transportation, oil & gas, pharmaceutical, food & beverage, packaging and steel.
“Industrial environments can be subject to electrical instability, high temperatures and airborne pollutants that traditional UPS systems cannot handle,” said Greg Funk, vice president of modular power converters at Vertiv. “Vertiv PowerUPS 6000 Industrial is designed specifically for Industry 4.0 applications, offering reliable performance even in demanding environments that can generate power fluctuations and harsh conditions on production lines, refineries and industrial plants.”
The Vertiv PowerUPS 6000 Industrial has an IP42 rating, which indicates the ability to withstand dust, humidity and ambient temperatures up to 50°C (122°F). The UPS protects critical industrial control systems such as Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and SCADA, industrial networking equipment and production line automation systems, helping to maintain operational continuity in applications where power reliability is essential.
The UPS is characterized by a compact cabinet, which allows it to be installed in environments with limited space. Additionally, it supports front-only installation and operation, simplifying deployment, maintenance and service. Designed to ensure energy efficiency and operational reliability, the Vertiv PowerUPS 6000 Industrial reaches up to 97% efficiency in double-conversion mode and 99% in ECO mode, and is compatible with VRLA (Valve-Regulated Lead-Acid), Nickel-Cadmium (Ni-Cd) and Lithium-Ion (Li-ion) batteries to meet different autonomy needs. The system manages industrial power fluctuations thanks to a wide input voltage range (-40% / +25%) and provides conditioned power with low harmonic distortion, reducing stress on upstream infrastructure. Parallelization capabilities allow for capacity expansion and redundancy, while protectively coated circuit boards offer greater resistance to dust, moisture and corrosion. Certified to European standards EN 50121 and EN 50171, the system is designed for mission-critical industrial applications.
