The company was awarded important awards in three different categories to reconfirm its leadership in consumer cybersecurity solutions
ESET, a global leader in the cybersecurity market, has received two gold and one bronze awards for consumer antivirus software in AV-Comparatives' 2019 Summary Report. AV-Comparatives, one of the most authoritative independent organizations specializing in antivirus software testing, uses one of the largest 'samples' of tests in the world to create realistic environments on which to carry out highly accurate analyses.
The 2019 Report provides analysis of the consumer antivirus software tested during the year and highlights the products that obtained a better score in the various tests they were subjected to over the 12 months.
The report covers consumer antivirus solutions for Windows from 16 different manufacturers and finds excellent results for ESET which is awarded in three different categories: Overall Performance (Low System Impact), Real-Time Protection Test (Advanced Threat Protection) and False Positive Test.
Overall Performance
ESET won the gold medal in the Overall Performance (Low System Impact) category which evaluates the effect of each software on the speed and performance of Windows. ESET reconfirms and even improves its results in this category, surpassing the silver award obtained in the same category during 2018.
Real-Time Protection Test
ESET also achieved the gold medal in this category, introduced in 2019 and 2020. This test identifies the effectiveness of real-time protection of the system from targeted attacks and fileless malware. ESET was one of only two solutions that blocked all 15 targeted attacks during the testing process.
False Positive Test
ESET received the bronze medal in this category. As indicated in the report, false positives can cause many more problems than a real infection and avoiding them is an essential element of good antivirus. AV-Comparatives has carried out extensive false positive testing in the Malware Protection Test and Real-Time Protection Test.
