The Decree-Law of February 23, issued to deal with the health emergency set in motion by the cases of contagion from COVID-19, provides for the application of agile work until March 15 in the regions affected by the infection even in the absence of individual agreements between employer and employee.
Labor consultants count about 8 million people who could work in Smart Working, a method already widespread in the rest of Europe which, however, in Italy still seems to be struggling to establish itself, counting today a number equal to 354 thousand people who make it a normal use. In fact, Eurostat data for 2018 show that just 2% usually work in Smart Working, against the European average of 11.6%.
