IDC MarketScape names ESET Major Player for the second consecutive year

by Grandangolo Communications / Wednesday, 16 December 2020 / Published in Eset

The global leader in the cybersecurity market was recognized for the second consecutive year as a 'Major Player' in mobile threat management in the IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Mobile Threat Management Software 2020 Vendor Assessment report.

The analysis evaluates the enterprise market for mobile threat management (MTM) software products, and aims to help enterprises identify vendors with the most compelling offerings and well-structured strategies.

According to the report, “ESET is a leader in the areas of threat research, especially with respect to identifying Android malware and detecting malicious behavior.” As IDC notes, “Enterprises looking to consolidate cybersecurity products and operations toward a unified endpoint security model should also consider ESET for its broad portfolio of endpoint and security management tools in addition to MTM.”

In 2020, mobile device security became a top priority: while a large number of companies had to resort to remote working on a large scale, hackers increased their attacks exponentially. Away from the office, many more employees are using personal mobile devices for everyday work and it is vital that these devices are protected. Companies should ensure that all endpoints are protected with software such as ESET Endpoint Security per Android, which defends against a wide range of threats with multi-layered protection.

This is essential today because for many companies the most significant challenge in fighting mobile threats is managing all the devices within an enterprise. Each employee may have multiple devices and therefore supervising the software on each device can be a time-consuming task. However, offers like ESET Security Management Center – which is automatically included in all ESET endpoint protection licenses – can simplify the process, providing a single tool from which to manage all devices on a network.

Zuzana Legáthová, Analyst Relations Manager at ESET, commented: "This new recognition from IDC Marketscape confirming ESET as a Major Player is a great testament to the quality of our mobile security offering, becoming one of the most important vendor evaluation tools for the IT sector. ESET's improvement in performance compared to last year's evaluation is a confirmation of our growing potential for mobile threat management software. Companies around the world can rely on ESET's expertise and recognition as a Major Player in Mobile to keep their devices safe and secure Threat Management confirms this."
