100 units of Vertiv™ Liebert® GXT5 UPS installed to support laboratory testing
Vertiv, (NYSE: VRT), a global provider of critical digital infrastructure and continuity solutions, in collaboration with Russian partner Wizard (second CRN/RE, among the top 25 System Integrators in 2021), supplied 100 uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) Vertiv™ Liebert® GXT5 at clinics in Moscow. The equipment is used to ensure a stable electrical supply to the immuno-chemiluminescence analyzers that determine the presence of coronavirus antibodies.
The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly increased demand for new digital solutions to speed up diagnoses – including virus and antibody detectors. To ensure fast and accurate test results, the IT team at the Moscow clinics identified the need for suitable UPS systems to protect the analyzers from potentially harmful power surges and spikes.
With more patients requiring antibody testing, clinics also required UPS systems and connectors to be installed in just two weeks. After evaluating all the alternatives, Wizard preferred the Liebert GXT5 5-6 kVA UPS series. Wizard and the clinics' IT staff were impressed by the dual conversion mode offered by these UPSs, capable of protecting critical equipment from a wide range of power consumption-related malfunctions and providing backup power in the event of a total power failure.
"Given the current pandemic situation and the increasing number of calls to medical facilities, uninterruptible power supplies play a truly important role in protecting critical infrastructure. Together with our partner Wizard, we promptly provided uninterruptible power supplies ideal for the size, capacity and features required for this critical application. More than ever, today's hospitals need high-quality, continuous and absolutely reliable power," he underlined Nikolai Kharitonov, Head of the Vertiv Representative Office in Russia and Belarus.
"The simplicity of installation and use played a decisive role in the choice of systems. Vertiv solutions have proven to be reliable in all projects carried out jointly. A further advantage was being able to promptly have the required number of UPSs in the distributors' warehouses - timely delivery times were essential", he indicated Dmitry Losev, Head of Strategic Accounts Division at Wizard.
Today, the installation of Vertiv UPS units supports the smooth operation of medical-diagnostic equipment for the Moscow Ministry of Health, where immuno-chemiluminescence analysts provide more than 900 thousand antibody studies per day.
