The company was awarded for the constant research and development of cutting-edge solutions
ESET, a global leader in the cybersecurity market, was recognized as a Major Player in two IDC MarketScape reports - the Worldwide Modern Endpoint Security Enterprise 2021 Vendor Assessment (Doc # US48306021, November 2021), and the Worldwide Modern Endpoint Security SMB 2021 Vendor Assessment (Doc # US48304721, November 2021). Together, the reports evaluate vendor endpoint security offerings in the SMB and enterprise markets.
Through a mix of surveys and interviews with market leaders, operators and end users, IDC MarketScape provides in-depth quantitative and qualitative assessments of the capabilities of different vendors in the technology market. The evaluation criteria of the reports focused on two main categories – the capabilities of the organization and its strategies. While the capabilities category focuses on the company's current offerings, the strategies category looks at how the vendor's policies will be able to meet customer needs three to five years from now.
The two reports focus on the importance of robust endpoint security for both small and large organizations. Next-generation endpoint security products protect personal computing devices from cyberattacks through detect and response mechanisms. Endpoint Protection Platforms (EPPs) perform detections and initiate responses in real time and autonomously, without human involvement. Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) represents the second phase of detection and response against cyberattacks that have evaded EPP detection.
In both reports, ESET stood out for reinvesting in software development, research and combating key and emerging threats – areas essential to refining its products. ESET has also been praised for its local language support to a broad network of global customers. ESET's participation in the independent EPP and EDR evaluations and willingness to put its products to the test was appreciated, as was the wide range of natively integrated cross-product platform solutions. Customers also benefit from in-house threat hunting services and the unique threat data the company collects and analyses. All this has been made possible by ESET's constant drive for self-improvement throughout its history, constant research, a technology-oriented culture and stable leadership.
Pavol Balaj, Segment Director for Enterprises di ESET commented, “We are very proud to have been named Major Player in the IDC MarketScape evaluation of our endpoint solutions.
