The new version of the operating system developed by Praim stands out for its compatibility with the latest VDI technologies, optimizations for collaboration with video-conferencing tools and the strengthening of security properties
Praim, a global company that develops software solutions for the creation and management of advanced workstations and Thin Client hardware solutions, announced the release of ThinOX 12, the new version of the operating system entirely developed by the company, based on 64-bit Linux technology, which today is distributed on Praim Thin Clients or in the ThinOX4PC version to be able to be installed or run live from USB also on other hardware from different manufacturers, making them safe and completely manageable.
The transition to ThinOX 12 marks an important evolution, as it enables use in modern IT infrastructures, especially those developed to access virtual and/or Cloud resources. In fact, ThinOX integrates the new generation of Linux kernels, capable of both supporting the latest platforms and hardware peripherals and ensuring compatibility and efficiency in the use of the most recent updates of VDI technologies, offered by the main global technological players such as Citrix, VMware, Microsoft, and others.
The new version of ThinOX sees a further evolution and strengthening of all the security properties that already characterize it as the ideal solution for use cases with high protection criteria. Furthermore, it stands out for its ability to best support modern remote or hybrid work scenarios even in a virtualization context, integrating the main optimizations designed for collaboration through video-conferencing tools, such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom.
Version 12 represents the latest evolution of the basic ThinOX system and includes, among other things, the integration of Citrix Workspace App version 22.07 and VMware Horizon version 22.06, in both cases optimized for MS Teams. FreeRDP version 2.8.0 and UDS version 3.5.0 are also integrated. Finally, for Citrix customers, the optimization plugin for Zoom has also been included (version 5.10.6).
ThinOX 12 also includes further improvements including the enhancement of the video configuration on multi-monitor stations, to support modern use cases even in the most demanding contexts (such as those in the design or finance fields), the update of the kernel, of the encryption algorithms to 512-bit or higher, and of many other modules and applications including integrated browsers.
“We are very satisfied with the innovations that distinguish the new release of our Praim ThinOX operating system, which responds to the ever-increasing needs for compatibility, efficiency and security of companies operating in the most disparate sectors -, he comments Jacopo Bruni, Marketing Manager di Praim. – Our commitment is always and constantly aimed at the implementation of lightweight and high-performance solutions that allow an easy, flexible and safe user experience in any working context".
