A former executive at VMware, Motorola and Apple, he brings a deep understanding of technical software support to Cohesity
Milan – 12 October 2022 – Cohesity, a leader in innovative data management, today announced the appointment of Karen Egan as Chief Customer Experience Officer. Operating from Cork, Ireland, Egan will be responsible globally for the company's customer experience, as well as the Professional Services, Success and Support teams.
A technology and support expert, Egan brings over 27 years of experience in the software and IT industry, including twenty in technical support. A great supporter of the issues of diversity, equity and inclusion, she has always been focused on people and corporate culture.
Prior to joining Cohesity, Egan was SVP of Global Support at VMware, where she was responsible for global new and strategic product support, all exclarations and customer success for VMware solutions. She led the team in ensuring an excellent and seamless support experience for enterprise, commercial and SMB customers across all product suites, including on-premises, SaaS and hybrid offerings. Egan also led and implemented the transformation of VMware's support operations to align with the company's transition from perpetual licensing to subscription and SaaS offerings. Before working 15 years at VMware, Egan held roles at Motorola and Apple.

Egan holds a BSc in Mathematics and Computing and a Higher Diploma in Applied Science from University College Cork. She was named VMware's “Global Support Person of the Year” in 1994 and “International Leader of the Year” at the 2015 FDM Everywoman in Technology Awards.
