For the seventh consecutive year, the Cloud 100 report annually reviews applications from hundreds of cloud startups and private companies. The Cloud 100 evaluation process involves ranking companies based on four factors: market leadership (35%), estimated valuation (30%), operational criteria (20%) and people & culture (15%). When it comes to market leadership, the Cloud 100 enlists the help of a panel of CEOs from public cloud companies who help evaluate and rank their peers from private companies.
“The companies on the Cloud 100 list represent the best and brightest private companies in this rapidly growing sector,” he said Alex Konrad, Senior Editor at Forbes. "Each year it becomes more and more difficult to make this list, which means that the companies that make it are even more elite. Congratulations to all the 2022 Cloud 100 honorees."
"Public markets may be in turmoil, but private Cloud 100 valuations continue to rise. All 2022 Cloud 100 companies have reached the $1 billion valuation milestone, and the average valuation has risen to $7.4 billion," he said Mary D’Onofrio, Partner di Bessemer Venture Partners. “Despite the market correction in 2022, our confidence in the cloud economy continues to grow: today, more than 70% of companies included in the 2022 Cloud 100 have reached or exceeded $100 million in annual recurring revenues, making them “Cloud Centaurs”. An additional 10% of companies on the list are expected to reach this milestone by the end of the year, confirming our belief that this year's honorees truly represent the best cloud companies globally”.
“Great companies are born in all environments, and it's exciting to see the cloud industry continue to grow,” he said Alex Kayyal, Managing Partner di Salesforce Ventures. “The companies on this list have passed a rigorous selection process and join an esteemed list of companies previously named to the Cloud 100. As the need for digital transformation continues to drive innovation and efficiency across all industries, we can look to these companies as the absolute best in cloud computing.”
