It's called Foresta Vertiv, a Christmas gift not only for customers, but for the planet. A contribution to the development of a sustainable ecosystem that can expand globally
Vertiv, (NYSE: VRT), a global provider of critical digital infrastructure and continuity solutions, strengthens its commitment to sustainability and environmental impact by giving customers – and the planet – the Vertiv Forest. Born from the participation of the Vertiv Italia team in the project Treedom and made up of 1,250 trees distributed between Cameroon, Colombia, Ecuador, Ghana, Kenya, Madagascar and Tanzania, the initiative does not just represent an alternative gift, but a concrete gesture with which Vertiv confirms the utmost attention to the issues of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG).
Participation in Vertiv's Treedom project adds to the recent Guide to the Sustainability of data centers and the Report on environmental, social and governance (ESG) activities and the related impacts generated during 2021. In particular, the Guide to Data Center Sustainability was created with the aim of sharing suggestions and resources with sector operators to implement tools to improve the energy efficiency of their structures. Il Report ESG instead it illustrates in detail Vertiv's approach to environmental, social and governance aspects in daily activities and provides indications for the proactive long-term strategy with which Vertiv is committed to mitigating environmental impact, while satisfying the demand that the sector has seen grow rapidly in recent years, creating value for the company and its stakeholders.
The birth of the Vertiv Forest is not limited to absorbing CO emissions2, but also contributes to improving air quality and combating climate change with an active global strategy to benefit the planet's energy resources.
"The method chosen by Treedom is to plant new trees within agroforestry systems capable of creating sustainable ecosystems from both an environmental and economic point of view", underlines Andrea Faeti, sales enterprise accounts director for Italy of Vertiv, "and we are proud to have joined this important initiative which confirms our attention towards the planet. Each of Treedom's projects is made up of a combination of species created according to the characteristics of the individual territory and the individual community, a system that maximizes the environmental, economic and social benefits that the selected trees are capable of generating.”
Trees are precious allies in the fight against climate change, because they produce oxygen and absorb carbon dioxide, trapping it in their trunks, branches and roots. By doing so they improve air quality and help mitigate climate change by absorbing CO2 from the atmosphere.
The 1,250 trees of Vertiv Forest are destined to increase. Today, the Spanish division of Vertiv has already contributed others 466 trees planted between Cameroon, Colombia, Kenya and Tanzania and other Vertiv offices from all over the world could also join the initiative, for the creation of an increasingly larger Vertiv Forest. A gift that consolidates Vertiv's ESG strategies at an international level to celebrate a new year dedicated to a more sustainable world.
