The major worldwide artificial intelligence experts met in Slovakia on the occasion of the Eastern European Summer School of Machine Learning. The goal of the event, which took place from 10 to 15 July 2023 at the Technical University of Košice, in Slovakia, is to provide university students of the Region with access to the most recent knowledge in this field. The Summer School is organized by Deepmind scientists, the research laboratory on the artificial intelligence of Google, and to ESET, global European leader in the cybersecurity market.

The sessions were focused on themes such as Deep Learning, Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing, Ethics in Machine Learning and application of Machine Learning in Medicine and Robotic.
Yoshua Bengio, considered a pioneer in the field of artificial intelligence, spoke to Deep Learning students. Among other speakers, Doina Preacup, professor at McGill University of Montreal and President of Ai Canada, as well as Slovak experts recognized worldwide, such as Michal Valko, Jana Košcká and Peter Richtárik stand out.
"Artificial intelligence is a theme that arouses increasing attention not only in professional environments, but also in society as a whole. The idea of organizing an Summer School of Machine Learning was conceived by three Romanian scientific researchers from the Deepmind artificial intelligence laboratory, owned by Google. The first summer school was co-organized by Doina Preacup, Razvan Pascanu and Viorica Patraucean and was held in Romania in 2018. Every year the event is organized in a different country, so that as many young people from central and eastern Europe can have the opportunity to learn from experts.
