The scientific committee of ComoLake 2023 recognized the value of the ACN qualifications achieved by Netalia and rewarded the approach that attributes strategic importance to the Italian Public Cloud for the country
Netalia, the independent Italian Public Cloud Service Provider, received the award ComoLake 2023 Award for the TLC, Networks and Services category, the recognition awarded to companies, institutions, start-ups and personalities who have distinguished themselves in five categories in the different fields of application of digital transformation.
The award was presented by Professor Nicola Blefari Melazzi, President of the CNIT - National Inter-university Consortium for Telecommunications and head of the scientific committee that assigned the awards, during a ceremony conducted by the television journalist Carmen La Sorella.
The reasons for the award certify that “Netalia emerges as the most relevant reality based on the evaluation criteria envisaged by the tender, representing the only national infrastructure authorized by the National Cybersecurity Agency (ACN) to manage the strategic data of the Public Administration, offering certified levels of security and reliability of services. Netalia proposes an infrastructure path for the cloud in Italy, which we hope can be developed and extended to other entities".
“We are proud of this award, a milestone in Netalia's history, which represents recognition of the rigor and efforts made, and the uncompromising attention to the security and compliance aspects of our services,” he states Michele Zunino, CEO of Netalia. “The fact that it is awarded to us during such an important event on a political-institutional level, strongly desired by the leaders of the Department for Digital Transformation, then projects us towards the future: we are increasingly convinced that we are on the right path with the proposal of a national Public Cloud and with a system vision that operates synergistically in the interests of the development and competitiveness of the country”.
In its first edition, ComoLake 2023 – Next Generation Innovations promises to become a reference event in Italy for the digital sector, with the 2024 edition already in preparation. The attention paid today by the Government to digital issues is confirmed by the numbers of the three days of work in Cernobbio: 80 national and international speakers; over 15 panels animated by the industrial leaders of the Italian digital sector; 9 Ministers of the Republic attended, with a message sent by the Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, and the participation on stage of the President of the Senate, Ignazio La Russa.
At the end of the event, the priorities were summarized by the Undersecretary of the Prime Minister with responsibility for Innovation, Alessio Butti: Artificial Intelligence between opportunities for innovation and the need for rules; fate of the telecommunications network and services; dynamics between national perspective and European scope; sustainable innovation in key sectors such as energy and transport; skills development; digitalization of the Public Administration and services to citizens, starting with migration to the cloud as an enabling factor; digital identity and health record.
According to what was stated during the event, the government is pursuing a digital strategy that has two objectives: a wide diffusion of technologies for all citizens and the protection of national interests to reduce dependence on third states. All the participants in the event reiterated that, in the midst of unprecedented and in some ways unpredictable digital development, the human being, with his complexity, his needs and his aspirations, must remain at the center of the discussion, representing the priority of any progress for everyone.
