New factory in South Carolina supports growing demand for integrated solutions for critical digital infrastructure
Vertiv, (NYSE: VRT), a global provider of critical digital infrastructure and continuity solutions, announced a major expansion of its North American manufacturing operations with the opening of a new facility in Pelzer, South Carolina. The new Pelzer facility adds 215,000 square feet of manufacturing space and is expected to generate up to 300 new skilled jobs there.
Vertiv's Pelzer facility will produce multiple infrastructure solutions, including modular integrated solutions, modular uninterruptible power supplies and other integrated systems that leverage Vertiv's portfolio of power, cooling and IT infrastructure technologies for data centers. These prefabricated, pre-engineered solutions are fully factory tested as a single system, significantly reducing site build times and overall data center time to market. Vertiv's integrated modular solutions also offer customers the ability to confidently expand their operations well into the future.
“Our international infrastructure solutions business is important and growing as demand for AI accelerates and our customers recognize the value of an integrated approach to support faster deployment of computing systems,” said Giordano Albertazzi, CEO of Vertiv. “Increasing manufacturing capabilities is critical to meeting customer needs, and Vertiv Pelzer's operations are central to this strategy for our operations in America and globally.”
In addition to the new Pelzer facility, Vertiv also has a switchgear and busbar manufacturing facility in nearby Anderson, South Carolina. Vertiv has increased the capabilities of its infrastructure solutions, switchgear equipment and busbar businesses through increased utilization and expanded manufacturing footprint in the United States, Mexico, Slovakia, the United Arab Emirates, Ireland and Northern Ireland.
