Presented at Riverbed EMPOWEREDx, solution brings observability to edge devices with Intel Thunderbolt and Wi-Fi technologies to enhance user experience
Riverbed, a leader in AI Observability, presented Riverbed Aternity per Intel® Thunderbolt™ e Wi-Fi, a new solution that for the first time combines observability with connected devices configured with Intel Thunderbolt and Intel Wi-Fi technologies. The solution combines Aternity's advanced analytics and powerful user experience visibility with the Intel Connectivity Analytics software development kit (SDK) that provides below-the-OS telemetry for devices with Intel Thunderbolt and Wi-Fi, enabling IT teams to deliver an optimized digital experience to end users.
Featuring Intel Connectivity Analytics*, the Observability solution for Intel Thunderbolt and Wi-Fi is the first third-party module available as a component of Riverbed Unified Agent, which helps manage agent fatigue, allowing IT teams to acquire more data without having to add additional agents.
“I am excited about this new direction in the partnership between Riverbed and Intel,” said Dave Donatelli, CEO of Riverbed, at the EMPOWEREDx event. "We are introducing a first-of-its-kind solution to expand observability beyond the PC to connected devices with Intel Thunderbolt and Wi-Fi technologies, providing IT teams with new levels of visibility that will improve digital experiences for millions of employees. With this innovation, we overcome the 'black box' effect where IT is left guessing and relying on manual troubleshooting. This jointly developed solution enhances AI-powered Digital Experience Platform from Riverbed, the market leader, providing comprehensive observability data across the entire IT environment: devices, networks, apps, end-user experiences, right down to blind spots such as cloud, mobile devices and Zero Trust architectures.”
“We are excited to deepen our collaboration with Riverbed, driving innovation that transforms the IT industry,” said Eric McLaughlin, vice president and general manager of Connectivity Solutions Group at Intel. "By integrating Intel Connectivity Analytics technology with Riverbed analytics and telemetry, we improve the observability and performance of devices with Intel Thunderbolt and Wi-Fi technologies. Together, we provide insights to optimize the digital experience and quickly resolve issues before they impact end users."
Transforming IT management and experience
Today, the majority of business work takes place on laptops and desktops with Intel processors, and Intel Thunderbolt and Wi-Fi technologies have become essential for high-performance computing, both in data-intensive industries and for everyday work in the office or remotely. Employees around the world rely on Thunderbolt to connect peripheral devices such as keyboards, monitors, storage devices and cameras, and use Wi-Fi everywhere, from homes to airports to offices. While many organizations use user device management tools like Riverbed Aternity to monitor what's happening on laptops and PCs, they lack real-time visibility into the performance of devices connected with Intel Thunderbolt or Wi-Fi technologies.
Riverbed Aternity Features for Intel Thunderbolt and Wi-Fi Technologies:
Telemetry Source: The new module is powered by the Intel Connectivity Analytics software development kit (SDK) that enables in-depth analysis of critical metrics, events and configuration data from employee devices using Intel Thunderbolt and Intel Wi-Fi solutions. The module works in conjunction with the Riverbed Aternity End User Experience (EUE) solution to deliver advanced Digital Employee Experience (DEX) capabilities.
Advanced Analytics and Automation: The Riverbed Aternity solution includes a suite of features specifically designed to address employee experience issues over Thunderbolt and Wi-Fi. The main components include:
– Unique Dashboard: Intuitive dashboards that show real-time events, issues and relevant data for quick insights.
– Pre-Built Remediations: A set of automated remediation interventions to resolve issues encountered, including driver updates, firmware fixes, and network optimizations, improving resolution times and user satisfaction.
“To deliver great digital experiences to all employees, IT teams require more granular levels of observability, and Riverbed, together with Intel, now allows you to extend observability to connected devices with Intel Thunderbolt and Wi-Fi technologies,” said Bob Laliberte, principal analyst at theCUBE Research. “With insights, organizations can manage user experiences across a wider range of devices, increasing productivity and accelerating problem resolution.”
Riverbed Aternity – Leader nel Gartner Magic Quadrant per la Digital Employee Experience (DEX)
With the new connectivity module, Aternity is the first DEX solution that provides unique visibility into Thunderbolt peripheral devices and PCs with Intel Wi-Fi. Aternity provides AI-enhanced insights based on real user experience data and high-fidelity telemetry. Aternity solutions provide important insights into performance metrics, measuring click-to-render times and correlating device functionality to application performance within essential business processes. In May, Riverbed launched Aternity Mobile, the first mobile monitoring tool that identifies DEX performance issues on company-issued mobile devices and enables IT to take action. Recently, Riverbed was recognized as a Leader in Gartner® 2024 Magic Quadrant for DEX Tools thanks to the Aternity solution.
Aternity for Intel Thunderbolt and Wi-Fi will be available to a limited market in Q4 2024, with full availability in Q1 2025. For more information, see https://www.riverbed.com/intel/
