The Vertiv™ PowerUPS 9000 Uninterruptible Power Supply offers energy-efficient, scalable, and reliable power protection for space-constrained environments
Vertiv, (NYSE: VRT), a global provider of critical digital infrastructure and continuity solutions, introduced Vertiv™ PowerUPS 9000, an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) with high power density and energy efficiency with a small footprint. The system is designed to support IT applications, from traditional computing to high-density applications. It is available globally in UL and CE models, from 250 to 1250 kW per unit.
Vertiv PowerUPS 9000 is designed to offer high power density and high double conversion efficiency of up to 97.5%. The new UPS allows for quick and easy installation, with cable entry from the top or bottom, as well as options such as backfeed protection and earth fault kit, integrated into the system without the need for additional space or on-site interventions. The units can be installed anywhere in the world, reducing potential supply and service inconsistencies, delivery delays and downtime.
“The Vertiv PowerUPS 9000 UPS was designed to maximize reliability and efficiency and to minimize bulk and complexity,” said Giovanni Zanei, vice president, large power at Vertiv. “Thanks to its modular architecture and high power density, it will provide reliable and energy-efficient power protection, as required by data center customers who want to protect both traditional and combined AI applications.”
The Vertiv PowerUPS 9000 model is the most efficient UPS in its category, with a physical footprint 32% smaller than previous versions. It is compatible with lithium battery cabinet Vertiv™ EnergyCore and with other battery technologies, including VRLA (Valve-Regulated Lead-Acid) and nickel-zinc.
Dedicated, separate control devices and dual, hot-swappable communication and control boards allow each power module to operate independently. In the event of a fault, the affected module can be isolated, thus protecting the other modules and allowing the system to function. The continuous-duty static bypass switch optimizes the override circuit and the system is fully hot-service and hot-swappable, meaning maintenance and upgrades can occur without downtime.
Vertiv™ PowerUPS 9000 can be integrated with Vertiv™ Next Predict, which offers a preventive maintenance system with advanced monitoring, equipment health analytics and insights that optimize site performance. By leveraging artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms to monitor the actual condition of your equipment and measure its performance, Vertiv offers a complete solution to optimize the performance and longevity of your equipment.
In Vertiv's testing laboratories, Vertiv engineers subjected the Vertiv PowerUPS 9000 to extensive engineering validation (EVT) and design (DVT) tests under a wide range of operating conditions to confirm its performance and reliability in real-world scenarios. The system also passed additional environmental, performance and situational tests, including debris protection, structural seismic integrity and durability tests, as well as surge and voltage sag tests, which simulated the extreme conditions the system might encounter.
