A new facility for training engineers in EMEA is born to meet the growing needs of AI-based digital infrastructures
Vertiv (NYSE: VRT), a global leader in critical digital infrastructure, has opened the new Vertiv Academy training center in Frankfurt, Germany. The new centre, located in one of Europe's most connected cities, will improve technical training, service innovation and customer engagement in Germany, Austria and Switzerland (DACH region), developing new generations of engineers ready to face an era increasingly characterized by artificial intelligence and automation. The inaugural Academy brought together industry leaders, government officials and Vertiv executives to celebrate a new chapter in digital infrastructure and service excellence.
The innovative training center is equipped with special training areas equipped with the latest systems for critical infrastructures, which allow you to experience first-hand the technologies for thermal management, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) and electrical panels. The facility offers hands-on learning environments where Vertiv technicians can practice fault scenarios and simulations that reflect real-world conditions, enabling faster response times and reduced service risks. Vertiv already has more than 100 certification and training courses planned to further expand its expertise in servicing and maintaining power, cooling and other critical digital infrastructure systems.
“The opening of the Frankfurt Academy is certainly a key moment in our regional strategy and confirms Vertiv's commitment to providing world-class service and support to customers,” said Karsten Winther, president for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) at Vertiv. "This important location will allow us to better serve the European market through faster knowledge transfer and superior service delivery for next-generation infrastructure. We are committed to harnessing talent, promoting skills development and supporting engineering and service excellence in the region."
"In the age of AI, services are more relevant than ever. This Academy represents a strategic investment in people – our teams, partners and customers," adds Phil Cullerton, vice president of Services EMEA at Vertiv. “At the heart of every service is a well-trained professional, and by nurturing talent and developing skills, we are building a stronger, more resilient service ecosystem for the AI-driven future.”
Founded in 2007, Vertiv Academy has 15 training centers across EMEA, including two main hubs in Italy: Bologna for uninterruptible power supplies and Tognana for thermal management, contributing to a total of 30 training centers and academies worldwide. Each facility offers Vertiv technicians, channel partners and emerging professionals engaging, hands-on training using real equipment, offering the opportunity to gain first-hand experience in field service and solution implementation, covering the latest innovations in power systems, thermal management and AI-ready solutions.
Vertiv Academy provides specialized courses taught by certified technicians, following a standardized study path developed by the Vertiv Center of Excellence for Global Learning. The program combines online pre-learning process, interactive classroom lessons and on-the-job training tailored to local and regional needs. The Academy also supports Vertiv's major talent development initiatives, helping to train a skilled workforce ready to face the challenges of tomorrow's digital economy and the AI factory of the future.
