Vertiv™ PowerIT power distribution units (PDUs) are now available in ratings up to 57.6 kW
Vertiv (NYSE: VRT), a global leader in critical digital infrastructure, unveiled the new Vertiv™ PowerIT rack power distribution unit (PDU), an expansion of the Vertiv PowerIT product range. These models are designed to meet the growing power needs of data-intensive workloads, including artificial intelligence and high-performance computing (HPC). They offer advanced power management, flexible configurations and improved internal components for greater reliability, enabling data centers to continuously scale power in response to growing IT needs. The models basic, monitored e switched they are already available in North America, Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
With racks increasingly supporting power densities above 25 kW, data center operators need reliable, high-capacity power distribution solutions that can balance loads and efficiently manage critical electrical requirements. Vertiv PowerIT Rack PDUs use three-phase power distribution in both the 208V Delta configuration (commonly used in North America) and the 240/415V WYE configuration (typical of the EMEA area and other international markets), an approach capable of evenly dividing the electrical load between multiple phases, reducing the potential risk of circuit overload, stabilizing the voltage and improving reliability.
"The progressive adoption of AI and HPC applications is driving unprecedented energy demand in data centers. Vertiv™ PowerIT rack PDU demonstrates our commitment to meeting these evolving needs with an end-to-end portfolio," said Andrea Ferro, VP power & IT systems at Vertiv in EMEA. “By providing solutions specifically designed for high-density computing, we enable our customers in EMEA and globally to efficiently expand their power infrastructure, while maintaining the reliability and flexibility needed for next-generation data centers.”
Vertiv PowerIT rack PDU provides precise real-time energy usage data to support optimized energy management in monitored and switched models. Designed for high performance, Rack PDUs operate reliably in temperatures up to 60°C (140°F) and in ambient conditions up to 95% humidity, ensuring consistent performance and adaptability in even the most demanding, high-density data center environments. Switched versions offer remote control at the socket level, quick installation adjustment and greater protection of critical IT loads. Monitored models are equipped with the Secure Boot security feature, with a proprietary Vertiv hardware security device, which protects the integrity of the network card firmware by preventing unauthorized modifications. With “configure-to-order” and “engineered-to-order” options, customers can tailor rack PDUs to specific needs by selecting socket configurations, input models and chassis colors.
Vertiv PowerIT rack PDUs are available with the Vertiv™ Distribution Assurance Package program, which offers seven years of comprehensive coverage, 24/7 emergency response, on-site and remote support, and professional installation services to support ongoing reliability and maximize uptime.
