Approximately $1 Billion Acquisition Enhances Vertiv's Capabilities in Specialized Fluid Management Services for High-Density Computing and AI Applications
Vertiv Holdings Co (NYSE: VRT), a global provider of critical digital infrastructure, announced the completion of its previously disclosed acquisition of Purge Rite Intermediate LLC (“PurgeRite”), a leading provider of mechanical scrubbing, purging and filtration services for data centers and other mission-critical facilities. The acquisition, valued at approximately $1 billion, enhances Vertiv's capabilities in thermal management services and strengthens global leadership in next-generation thermal chain services for liquid cooling systems.
“We are thrilled to officially welcome PurgeRite to Vertiv, broadening and deepening our expertise in fluid management services,” said Giordano Albertazzi, CEO of Vertiv. “Their specialized experience in fluid management services complements our existing portfolio and enhances our ability to offer comprehensive product and service support for high-density computing and AI applications, where efficient thermal management is critical to performance and reliability.”
High-performance computing (HPC) and AI factories require liquid cooling technologies and it is essential to implement and maintain clean fluid circuits to maximize cooling performance. This starts with optimal flow during commissioning, ensuring an ultra-clean, air-free and chemically stable refrigerant, and preserving that balance to maintain performance throughout the entire life cycle of the system.
Integrating PurgeRite's expertise with Vertiv's existing thermal management portfolio will deliver significant benefits to customers, including: improved system performance through improved heat transfer and equipment efficiency; lower risks of downtime thanks to operational excellence and greater service capacity to support global operations with consistent quality.
Headquartered in Houston, Texas, PurgeRite has established itself as a leader in mechanical scrubbing, purging and filtration for mission-critical data center applications, with strong relationships with hyperscalers and Tier 1 colocation providers. It brings with it engineering expertise, proprietary technologies and the ability to scale to meet the needs of complex data center programs, enabling advanced liquid cooling applications across the entire thermal chain, from chillers to cooling distribution units (CDUs). The company's services will integrate with Vertiv's existing liquid cooling solutions to deliver end-to-end thermal management solutions, from the entire building to individual rooms, right down to rack rows and the racks themselves.
