The acquisition is aimed at strengthening the thermal management offering and production capabilities in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, to support high-density computing
Vertiv (NYSE: VRT), a global leader in critical digital infrastructures, announced the completion of the acquisition of ThermoKey S.p.A., a leading company in heat rejection and heat exchange technologies, building consolidated relationships with OEM (original equipment manufacturers) and system integrators over time.
The acquisition expands Vertiv's thermal management portfolio and manufacturing capabilities, particularly in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), and increases the offering of system-level solutions across the entire thermal chain for AI factories and high-density data centers. ThermoKey benefits from Vertiv's global presence, driving accelerated growth and expanded market access, while strengthening Vertiv's ability to deliver thermal architectures that help customers plan ahead for next generations of computing.
Vertiv currently uses ThermoKey technologies in a selection of thermal solutions. ThermoKey's technology offering includes heat exchange solutions, dry coolers and compatibility with low GWP refrigerants and natural refrigerants, which complement the Vertiv portfolio, giving customers greater flexibility to optimize performance, site conditions and future growth. Founded in 1991, ThermoKey has over 30 years of engineering expertise, as well as in-house design and manufacturing capabilities to support its customers and markets.
“Customers are expanding AI infrastructures at an unprecedented rate and thermal performance is now a key enabler of capacity and efficiency,” said Giordano Albertazzi, CEO of Vertiv. “With ThermoKey, we are expanding our ability to deliver industry-first, integrated, high-performance heat rejection solutions, helping customers deploy infrastructure faster, operate more efficiently and grow with confidence.”
The ThermoKey operations headquarters in Rivarotta, Italy will continue to be a key hub for manufacturing, engineering and support. Giuseppe Visentini, CEO of ThermoKey, will continue to lead the business, ensuring continuity for employees, partners and customers. “Entering Vertiv means bringing our experience in heat exchange into a complete and integrated thermal chain serving high-density data centers,” said Visentini. "We share Vertiv's engineering rigor and customer focus. ThermoKey joins Vertiv on an important growth path and, from Italy, we will continue to build on this momentum and contribute to the group's strength in EMEA and around the world."
