Elenos relies on Centro Computer to create a voice solution completely based on Microsoft Teams

by Grandangolo Communications / Thursday, 05 November 2020 / Published in Computer Center

The company, a leader in the production of cutting-edge FM transmitters, has replaced telephone switchboards with a full cloud digital platform on Azure and Teams, the collaboration hub that integrates people, content and tools to make teams more engaged and effective

Computer Center, a consultancy company specializing in IT products, services and solutions for companies, was chosen by Elenos to support the leading FM transmitter company in migrating towards a voice solution completely based on Microsoft Teams, replacing the telephone switchboards in use at the Elenos headquarters in Poggio Renatico and at the Itelco headquarters (an Elenos Group company) in Orvieto.

Elenos is a global company with offices and support facilities in Europe, North America and Asia, recognized as a world leader in compact and highly reliable FM transmitter systems. Over 40,000 Elenos transmitters have been installed in at least 100 countries around the world and among the companies already customers we highlight important networks including MTV, BBC, Deutsche Welle, Virgin Radio, Radio Maria, Radio Italia and many others. The company designs and manufactures products to the highest international standards and is an ISO certified organisation.

The collaboration between Centro Computer and Elenos began in 2017 and saw the two companies operate jointly in the technological renewal project of all the IT infrastructures adopted, starting from the printing, mobility, client and server tools provided through the Fleet Management service proposed by Centro Computer. During this period of collaboration, Elenos had also planned the replacement of traditional telephone switchboards to migrate towards a cutting-edge telephony solution, deciding to once again rely on its partner Centro Computer.

To meet Elenos' needs, Centro Computer proposed a voice solution completely based on Microsoft Teams, with the implementation, commissioning and support of two Ribbon SWe Lite Virtual SBCs, installed directly on Azure, a SIP Trunk on the Internet with the Elenos Carrier and the Cloud PBX Microsoft Phone System and Microsoft Teams solution.

From the moment of the order, Centro Computer was able to immediately activate the installation of the equipment and the configuration and user migration activities of the chosen solutions, Microsoft for the Microsoft Teams part and Ribbon for the Voice Gateway part, operating completely remotely and completing the procedures within a few days. The entire operation was concluded before the recent health emergency period, with the consequent lockdown, and this allowed the operators located in the two offices to work in smart working, keeping the same telephone number, and guaranteeing continuity in communications to and from the company.

The solution guarantees a series of important advantages, among which we highlight: a minimal initial investment, since only the Virtual SBC licenses must be purchased (CapEx); low operating costs given that each Virtual SBC costs little more than a coffee a day; total control of voice costs compared to other cloud offers; no dependence on local physical equipment and thanks to Microsoft Teams the company phone becomes your PC and the Teams App on your Smartphone.

“Once we decided to dispose of our old switchboards and opt for a more agile and modern voice solution, we confirmed Centro Computer as our reliable partner also on this project because we had long known their efficiency, professionalism and the skills of their experts already consolidated for the entire Microsoft environment.” comment Matteo Varotti, IT Manager of Elenos.

"In response to Elenos' request, we immediately proceeded with the installation of the full cloud voice solution on Azure which uses the Ribbon SWe Lite and Microsoft Teams virtual Voice Gateways as a corporate voice system to replace the classic 'switchboard'. Essentially, the solution does not require any physical equipment, only software and Cloud services" underlines Luca Vitali, Manager of Microsoft Cloud Collaboration & Security services in Computer Center.

“We are extremely satisfied with the solution adopted, the system is perfectly scalable, the management is integrated with the entire corporate world since everything is based on Microsoft and this represents a huge advantage for us also in terms of cost savings and support for all our business processes”. – he concludes Matteo Varotti, IT Manager of Elenos.
