The system integrator supported the prestigious insurance company with new and advanced Unified Communications and Collaboration services
Centro Computer, a Project Group company specialized in technologies, services and IT solutions for companies, attended UnipolSai Insurance in the video content distribution optimization project, in collaboration with Kollective Technology.
UnipolSai Assicurazioni is an Italian insurance company part of the Unipol Group which boasts 17 million customers and operates with over 11 thousand employees. With 2,532 insurance agencies and 5,401 sub-agencies distributed across the entire national territory, it constitutes the largest network of agencies in Italy.
Historic customer of Centro Computer, with a collaboration that has seen them side by side for over thirty years, during the lockdown UnipolSai had the need to use new Unified Communications and Collaboration services to optimize communication with its employees, opting to adopt Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Teams as a solution for video conferences.
At the same time, the need arose to use Teams Live Events in order to communicate promptly and directly with the more than 11 thousand employees of the Group. The need was to minimize the load on internal communication systems, reducing bandwidth usage, producing minimal impact on the company infrastructure and optimizing the user experience with an agentless solution.
Centro Computer consultants proposed to UnipolSai the implementation of ECDN (Enterprise Content Delivery Network), a peering solution natively integrated into the Microsoft 365 Suite which allows video-based communications to be scalable across the entire network, allowing 100% distribution to be achieved with minimal use of bandwidth, offered by partner Kollective Technology.
The full trial version of ECDN was made available to UnipolSai for a few months, so that it could directly verify the ease and speed of implementation, the exceptional bandwidth saving features and the advanced management and reporting features. Factors which, after the testing period, led the company to opt for the adoption of the solution.
ECDN was implemented directly on Cloud 365 in a few minutes and centrally, just as the network-side configuration was carried out quickly thanks to the company's Group policy.
The adoption of ECDN has allowed Teams Live Event to be used as the only tool for corporate broadcast communication, increasing the number of communications and reducing the bandwidth used by over 80%.
Furthermore, the user experience has proven to be extremely satisfactory and the use of the solution by the various departments of the Group is constantly increasing, choosing it as the preferred communication tool with their work teams.
