Vertiv™ Liebert® RXA and Liebert® MBX provide flexible and secure power distribution for edge systems, colocation environments and mid-sized data centers
Vertiv, (NYSE: VRT), a global provider of critical digital infrastructure solutions, today introduced two new power distribution systems to simplify data center management and scalability. The Liebert Remote Power Panel (RPP).® RXA is a flexible and safe solution for high-density power applications in one of the smallest footprints in the industry, while the Liebert busway system® MBX enables modular power distribution, in data centers of all sizes, leaving room for equipment. Both products are available in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
Many data centers routinely use purpose-built electrical power distribution systems to power server racks. However, custom solutions require longer lead times and are not pre-certified by original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), which could create complications during maintenance.
An excellent alternative to custom-built systems, especially for high-density applications, is a standardized RPP, such as the new Liebert RXA panel, which can be flexibly placed in data centers, server rooms or network closets. Pre-built and configured, certified and tested, the Liebert RXA provides turnkey electrical distribution once connected to external circuits, simplifying plant start-up, expansion and overall management of larger data center networks. The solution offers flexible features and multiple configuration options to meet varying data center needs and future growth, while optimizing available space. Additionally, this new generation of standardized RPPs, through intelligent power monitoring and control of the Vertiv™ Liebert® DPM system, can respond more quickly to any load imbalances, increasing the availability of critical systems and preventing problems that could damage valuable server equipment and cause unplanned outages. Thanks to the innovative design, Liebert RXA offers one of the smallest footprints in the industry, while the finger-saving protection features offer greater safety for operators.
When floor space is simply not an option, the Liebert® MBX is a versatile above-the-rack solution that provides reliable and scalable power distribution in data centers of any size, with the inherent advantage of also maximizing cooling air flow. This best-in-class modular system offers a variety of capabilities and connection options that support improvements and adaptations with minimal external support needed, allowing businesses to cost-effectively optimize and adapt their power distribution infrastructure for future needs. Hot-swappable junction boxes and adaptive bars maximize flexibility and availability with continuous power delivery to critical loads even during upgrades and layout changes. The lightweight and rugged aluminum chassis is IP2X certified and IEC 61439-2 compliant, with built-in finger protection features and a ground-first/break-last design to ensure maximum safety during maintenance.
“With data center space at a premium, the influx of more devices and the move to higher densities, data center power infrastructure is under increasing pressure to be secure, scalable and quick to deploy,” he said Giovanni Zanei, Senior Director AC Power Global Offering & EMEA Business Leader at Vertiv. These easy-to-install systems provide packaged power distribution that is compact and flexible enough to meet ever-changing demands." By implementing Vertiv power distribution systems, colocation providers and data center managers can help ensure uptime with high-quality equipment built and certified by a global leader."
Liebert RXA and Liebert MBX join the broad portfolio of power distribution solutions provided by the industry leader Vertiv, including Geist™ Power Distribution Units (PDUs) and Rack PDUs.
